I want to see this. Haven't seen a sub movie for awhile. Saw Good Kill. I'd give it a birdie. Pretty bleak take on drones. Greenwood is a great actor.

Anyone seen The Perfect Host with David Hyde Pierce (Niles from Frasier)?  It was one of the strangest movies I've ever seen, yet very engaging and entertaining.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

That mangled Vader helmet looks creepy. I knew Star Destroyers were huge, but holy man does that first shot blow away my perspective on its size.

Black Sea . Par . I've seen the director's State of Play , which was pretty good, although not as good as the British miniseries, and bits of The King of Scotland , so expected good things from it. It's a little too heavy handed with the commentary on the economy, which annoyed me. And the submarine genre part of the movie didn't grab me as other sub movies normally did.

Oh man...I was hoping this would be better. The trailer I thought looked awesome. I like the claustrophobic vibe that you can get from a sub movie.

I'd still watch it, it's still a sub movie, but I was expecting something I'd enjoy as much as Below.

I had no idea a Le Petit Prince movie was in the works. Totally dusty - first Star Wars, now this. A beautiful story and movie looks very faithful to it. Plus an amazing voice cast:

  • Jeff Bridges
  • Rachel McAdams
  • Paul Rudd
  • Bud Cort
  • Marion Cotillard
  • Benicio Del Toro
  • James Franco
  • Ricky Gervais
  • Paul Giamatti
  • Albert Brooks
  • Mackenzie Foy

so i just checked out the imdb page, it mentioned a sinister presence.  its nothing supernatural is it?  i dont really like that kind of stuff.  but if sinister just means bad guy, thats fine.

Below blended genres and was surprisingly good for a lesser known lower budget film. There were supernatural elements. There's nothing supernatural in Black Sea. Any mishap is caused by man and man alone. :-) Tomorrowland, Trailer #3

The Hundred Foot Journey - Birdie.  Who would have thought that a movie about cooking would be so good?  Acting was excellent and it was certainly food porn.  And yes, I looked up the Five Mother Sauces after watching!  I am familiar with them, but wanted a refresher.

    • Day 337 - Mostly putting (setup was the focus), but did a bit of full swing work as well.
    • Day 155: did a stack session.
    • Day 230 (19 Dec 24) - Spent some time working the 6i thru varied shots and related adjustments in setup (esp stance) - full swings, partial swing pitches and easy dink and rolls - using the hard foam balls.
    • I visited the PGA Superstore again today. Once again I messed around with the LAB putters. There was another customer there and this guy was totally sold on them. He walked away with one. Anyhow, this guy told me all about them. ... Pretty much stuff that we've already covered in this thread. I did mention to him that I wasn't impressed with the feel. To which he told me you have to try one with the upgraded shaft. So, I did. I have to say the feel was better with the upgraded shaft. Still not the best feeling putter out there, but clearly better than the standard shaft. The feel is also improved (in my opinion) by going with a more traditional grip instead of the forward leaning one. They also had one of the DF3's in blue. Which of course would be my favorite. The DF3 in blue with the upgraded shaft started to scratch the 600 dollar mark.  Once again, I came away thinking that Tour Edge is the way to go. They actually had a face balanced model for $99.99. I have to say it "felt" to my hands much better. Every time I go and test LAB putters I come away thinking more people should buy the Tour Edge putters. Just one man's opinion. BTW - I also tried the Odyssey face-balanced putter. It was okay.  Anyway, my experimenting with the LAB putters is probably over. Not sure when I'll replace my current gamer, but when I do, I don't think it will be with a LAB putter even though it does come in blue. 😜
    • Day 80 - 2024-12-19 Tested out the Garmin R50 for a little while. It seemed to give pretty good numbers.
