No official news yet for my tournament.

But if it is cancelled, I will be looking for an open course to play, at least in the early afternoon.

If it goes forward and you need in a 9 handicap to fill in, just hit me up ...

Well as expected, tomorrow's tournament is canceled due to snow.  AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!

I hope some of the courses are open for play tomorrow.  I am just itching to get out.

I'm probably going to try to find a course mid/late morning to play, so I'll let you know if I find an open one.

Well, it's that time of the year again.

I had a tee time this morning but was cancelled due to a white blanket covering the course.

I'm hoping it melt enough today to be able to get a round in tomorrow.

Ladies and gentleman,

I, like many of you are suffering from not being able to golf in the snow at this time of year. What do you guys do to keep sharp during the 2-3 months that we aren't able to hit the course so we arn't backtracking on the progress we made this year. I've been putting on my hardwood floors and setting up chip shots in my living room. Started by landing the ball in the middle of the couch cushion. Then moved to chipping into the paper shredder bin (10 ish inches long and 6 ish inches wide.) then chipping over the ottoman into the shredder bin. What kind of things are you gents going?

I use the driver in my front room and aim the ball at my wife. That may sound extreme to you, but in reality I can't hit a fairway on a regular basis, so I think the wife is pretty safe :-D

In my bag (Motocaddy Light)

Taylormade Burner driver, Taylormade 4 wood, 3 x Ping Karsten Hybrids, 6-SW Ping Karsten irons with reg flex graphite shafts. Odyssey putter, 20 Bridgestone e6 balls, 2 water balls for the 5th hole, loads of tees, 2 golf gloves, a couple of hand warmers, cleaning towel, 5 ball markers, 2 pitch mark repairers, some aspirin, 3 hats, set of waterproofs, an umbrella, a pair of gaiters, 2 pairs of glasses. Christ, it's amazing I can pick the bloody thing up !!

Use indoor hitting facilities at home or workplace (a small perk when you own your own business)
Video often on priority pieces or moves/motions of your swing or chip shots, pitching technique or even indoor putting.

Just swing a club to maintain rhythm and flexibility during the off season.

I am surprised that you, as a retiree, don't take a couple trips south.
