Cheerleaders? I'll fill in for you...

Quick little OT story:

Back in, I think '93, I went to a professional conference in Denver.  It turned out that not only were most of the guys playing in the US Senior Open at Cherry Hills staying at our hotel, including Jack and Jackie and Trevino, and Floyd, etc. (not wanting to be THAT GUY I just admired them from afar - that was the last USGA Championship Jack ever won, and we went out to watch him do it on Sunday), but they were also holding tryouts for the Denver Bronco cheerleaders.  Great times!

But then again, what the hell do I know?

Just saw this thread--super cool.  I think it's just as cool that you get to play that much golf though.

Soooo ... how do we think David is doing right now? LOL!!

I predict that his jaw is cramping up because he is halfway through a constant 6-hour long ear-to-ear grin.  Other than that, no idea.

First tee had to be tough, even though he's a good golfer, the pressure of that first tee shot in front of Graeme had to be intense.  I'd guess he settled down after that and is representing the SandTrap well.

Agreed, and there were probably more people around than he's used to (GolfNow people, event organizers, curious onlookers etc.)

I didn't even think about all the others that would be watching, gawking.  I'm glad it's not me, my game couldn't handle the pressure of a PGA pro and all those others watching me play.

Prediction, what does David shoot? And what does Graeme shoot? I got 85 for David and a 67 for Graeme

I'm thinking GMac will give David some good advice on the course, which will lead to a decent score from David, so I'll say David shoots a 80 and Gmac a 68.

David, don't let me down for pete sakes... :-D

I'll say 82 for David and 73 for GMac.  I think GMac is going to try to have some fun, not be in tournament mode.

I don't know how hard this course is compared to the tracks David normally plays, but I know on those courses 80 isn't good for him.  Seems like he always shoots 78 or 79 with a birdie or two and a double bogey.

But I bet you're right about the good advice from GMac.  David's nervousness will subside early on and he'll play well after that.  78 with only one double ... on the first hole, lol!!!  Oh, and a birdie on 18 to close out his most memorable round ever!

PS ... I hope they don't make him play from the tips.

No doubt! I'm sure David was nervous as hell on the first tee and he's a good golfer. I can't imagine what it would be like for a high HC like us to be standing on that first tee.

I know nada about the course, and if 80 is a bad day for David, then I hope he shoots much lower. As long as he has a great time, and maybe learns a thing or 2 is what's important.

David shoots a 76 then..

Good point about playing from the tips. If it were me, I can hear GMac now, "Hey buddy! We're back here" :-D

Hey, hey, the Top Flite Gamer v2 is a nice ball.

But it has the word "gamer" in it.

Score is probably decent because I assume these things are like a pro-am, lot's of "that's good".

Tough call.  I'm saying he rallies with a good back nine for a 79.

What about the first tee shot?  Fairway, rough, bunker or OB?
