5SK isn't a specific type of swing.  Good golf swings will have the 5 Keys.

But as Scott noted above, 5SK® isn't a "methodology" the way people use the word. The words "method" and "methodology" have been abused by golf instructors to mean "everyone is taught to swing the same exact way" (with very little wiggle room in "exact").

Jim Furyk and Vijay Singh and Tiger have all 5SK®. They occasionally work on Keys 4 and 5 (Tiger "getting stuck" is a Key 4 issue). 5SK® is not a "methodology" the way people mean it.

I'm not really a fan of these definitions. You'd hope, by the dictionary definition, that your instructor had a "method" that he was applying. After all, a good golf instructor's method could be "identify the flaws, determine which one is the most important, and fix it." That's a "method" to teaching golf that doesn't apply a single swing "method." Know what I mean? (Rhetorical, so no real need to answer here… basically, "method" means a "plan or process" but golf instructors often say it to mean "one identical plan for everyone.").

Yes, makes sense. I've thought of it incorrectly as a methodology. I need to learn more.

Great article and great comment about golf teachers lifting each other up. I see that happening with our resident TST instructors and I agree that it's a positive thing. We need more people being included in the game, wherever and however that happens.
