I always say that I'm not superstitious at all, however, this thread makes me realize that I do have one:  I cannot ever put an extra ball in my pocket.**  Even if it's a hole where there's a great chance at an OB and it's a really long walk from the cart back to the tee - I feel like I'm setting myself up for and/or admitting failure when I do that.  :)

For me, it's pretty similar to many except for that:

Front left:  2 or 3 ball markers, divot repair tool, pencil if walking.

Front Right:  5 or 6 tees

Back Right:  Aimpoint chart and yardage book, scorecard as well if walking.

Back left:  Glove when not wearing it.

** One exception is when I've hit a provisional and I find the first one so I put the provisional in my pocket and sometimes I'll forget about it for a few holes.

I'm going to leave the provisional ball in my bag for a few rounds and see how that works for me.  I'll either add a lot more steps to my day or hopefully hit better drives.

Front left: sometimes phone.

Front right: tees, ball marker, divot tool, extra ball.

Back right: Aimchart, scorecard, pencil.

Back left: nothing.

I carry my glove and leave it on the top of my bag when I'm not wearing it. If I leave it in my pocket it doesn't get a chance to air out.

In my bag:

Driver: Titleist TSi3 | 15º 3-Wood: Ping G410 | 17º 2-Hybrid: Ping G410 | 19º 3-Iron: TaylorMade GAPR Lo |4-PW Irons: Nike VR Pro Combo | 54º SW, 60º LW: Titleist Vokey SM8 | Putter: Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas H7

What kind of phone do you have?  I have a 6+ and find it too big and heavy to keep in my pocket while golfing.  I like the bigger screen and longer battery life but am thinking I'll downsize just so it's more comfortable to keep in my pocket while playing golf.

Just the regular 6. I walk around with it in my front pocket all day anyway, so while I wish it were lighter, I'm used it at this point.

Bare bones, and nothing in any other pocket but front right, can't get my glove hand in the left.

Just a divot tool, ball marker and Golf Buddy GPS on my belt.

Thanks, I walk around with mine all the time too but the 6+ is just heavy and moves around a lot during my golf swing which is just another distraction I don't need.

100% sympathize. Phone size tradeoffs suck.

scotty cameron ball repair tool (so good)

extra ball

Maybe a tee (usually have them in cap near ear

Did have ball marker but got a magnetic hat one and it's 1000x better and I never forget it or lose it like in the past with pocket ones.

As little as possible.

Front Left: Combo repair tool/ball marker

...and that's all, folks. Everything else is in my bag or the cart if I'm riding. If I am riding, I'll bring my phone out to my ball to check the distance...back-right pocket.

I actually want to get/make a putter-head cover with an attachment for a repair tool and ball marker, so I can be completely empty-pocketed except when on the green (something like http://readyputt.com)

left pocket - ball marker

right pocket - broken wooden tee, pitch mark repairer and small pocket sized brush to clean grooves between shots.

back left pocket - scorecard holder

Always keep tees in right pocket as I hate it when you put a glove on and then forget to take the tee out of your pocket first...

When golfing I hate stuff in my pockets for the most part. My tees hang from doodad on my bag. Balls are in a top compartment on my bag. Combo ball marker/divot tool clips on the bill of my hat. Pencil is in my shirt pocket. The only things I keep in my pockets are my wallet, and the score card.

I use to carry a $5K poker chip in my pocket from an out of business casino. I used it to mark my ball. It wasn't worth anything. I used it until someone complained it was too big. ;-)

In My Bag:
A whole bunch of Tour Edge golf stuff......

Right pocket. Ball marker, repair tool, ball and tee.

Left pocket: sometimes my phone if I am using Arccos or Scorecard during the round.

Back right pocket: AimPoint chart if I am not using Express.

As minimum as possible.

Left Pocket: nothing.
Right Pocket: Divot repair tool, and no more than 2 tees.

For par-3s, I use any of the broken tees on the tee box.

    • Yes. If you choose to take the ball out of the bunker instead of taking maximum available relief… it costs a stroke.
    • I got another one today....Number 17. Par 5 that has water left and right on the layup. I smacked a drive down the left side and got a little lazy on the layup and fanned my 6 iron. With 112 to a crowned green I got it to 3 feet and birdie!  Only 5 and 15 is left for this year!
    • Maybe I didn’t explain this properly. Back and front can be confusing.  There was no place in the bunker that didn’t have 2-3 inches of rain water in it, except for a small spot on the slope nearest the pin. If I had dropped there I would be moving 6-7 feet closer to the hole. Since my ball was just inside the bunker, farthest side from the hole, I dropped one club length backward, which brought me out of the bunker. I could not have hit from that deep of water. Are you saying I would have had to take a penalty stroke due to rain water?
    • Day 550, May 5, 2024 Got a good hour in with a typical (for me) two-stick setup: pool noodle angled in front, yardstick on the ground angled 45° behind me.
    • Day 130: Cinco de Mayo Day 7/24 of Full Speed Spectrum training. Difficult training day after struggling to certify my warmup yesterday, and today. Finished 13 mph lower than my training speed on Thursday. Hope to hit some balls today.
