Serious funky meat jones today. Menudo with pigs feet sounds good. Giant bowl of pho would satisfy too. Snowy day here so I need something comfort food-ish. My version of it anyway.

That looks good. Are those green peppercorns? Kind of reminds me of steak au poivre. Had a craving for that lately, I'll have to make some soon.

Yes, they are. It was good. I bet the one you make will be better, though.

Spoiler

BTW, we're coming over to NJ this summer, probably late July, and that might be a good time to try those yummy grilled foods? My brother in law has a nice grill as well which I might have to borrow for such an occasion.

We'll be there June as well, but probably going to be very busy? Looking forward to possibly meeting up with you.

I feel like some of those would actually be quite good in a George Foreman type grill, so that you didn't have to smash the things so much.

I used to get a french bread roll, put browned beef, some tomato sauce, and some cheese inside, and make a panini type sandwich. Easy and relatively cheap "single guy" type meal.

image.jpegI won't be able to work this off. Sharp stuffed burger topped with bacon, head cheese more cheddar over potatoes and grilled onion. I ignored the avocado but slammed the cider. Head cheese melted all over it.

That is one big danish. I don't get the appeal of these though. They don't seem to be selling. Put the cereal box for size reference

The Kringle is some kind of mid-west thing.  My in-laws are from Springfield, MO and they always get one of these when we stay over.  I'd never heard of a Kringle until I stayed at their house the first time.

That lemon basil flavored cider reminded me of the lemon basil ice cream I had at Ritter's here in Dayton. So far, one of my all time favorite ice cream flavor combinations. Maybe it's because basil is part of the mint family, but it works really well with vanilla and lemon.

I just bought this machine, http://www.amazon.com/Sansaire-Sous-Immersion-Circulator-Black/dp/B00KSFAB74?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

I am looking forward to trying out a new cooking style :-)

    • Day 129: 5/4/24 Stack training but could not certify my warmup speed. Dealing with a pulled neck muscle. Chips and pitches at a local course for about 15 minutes.
    • Typically less than 50. I find this can be affected by the "CART" signs on a given course. I don't like taking my rangefinder out of the cart and carrying it around to the green. I am very fearful I will leave it somewhere.
    • First ever holed out greenside bunker shot! It's crazy it took this long to finally get one during a round, but the cold streak is officially over. Hole 6 on the Palmer Course at PGAN. I hit my driver like 225 into a really stiff wind, then worm burned a hybrid into the bunker. I was about I dunno, 40-45 feet away. Birdie! Let's go! The red Xs the approximate location of each shot.  Really fun!!
    • Day 23: Rained all day, so no ball hitting. Worked indoors on top of the backswing feel, and also putted around the living room working on bead.
    • Played Four Oaks in Dracut today going back to the 2 man scramble match play format. My brother and I shot a team 81 winning 3 and 2. Had so many good shots today using a more centered turn. Seems to have really iginited my golf game. We'll see if I can keep it going.
