Ahh, that's a good one. The cake, the bread, the cheddar, the dead presidents, the lettuce, the scratch, the cream, the fetti, the scrilla. It rules everything.

I love my kids. The love is indescribable. You only understand it when you've felt it. However... I miss golf, cabo, football season, disposable cash, sleep, hangovers, sex, watching things other than PBS Kids....

Hangovers are a good indicator that the previous night was fun. But I don't remember what I did to get the hangover, so I can't really say I miss that.

Dustin Johnson is suing a former adviser for allegedly stealing $3 million.

Dustin Johnson was allegedly scammed out of $3 million by a group of his trusted advisers, one of whom used to occupy a seat on the Dustin Johnson Foundation, according to a lawsuit Johnson filed this week in Georgia that was obtained and reported on by Housingwire.com .

The lawsuit alleges that Nathan Hardwick, formerly of Atlanta’s Morris Hardwick Schneider law firm, along with Mark Wittstadt and Gerard Wittstadt used Johnson’s money to cover shortages created when Hardwick allegedly embezzled more than $30 million from the title firm’s accounts and trust accounts.

Housingwire.com reports that Hardwick resigned from the firm in August. The firm has subsequently filed a lawsuit against Hardwick alleging he used a portion of the embezzled money to fund travel on private jets, repay gambling debts and purchase a condominium at the St. Regis Atlanta.

Probably thought he was an easy target since he was abusing drugs and not paying attention to what was important.  I hope DJ gets his money back but usually these things never work out well for the victims.

Depending on when his fiancée, Paulina Gretzky, gives birth to their son, Johnson will return at Torrey Pines on Feb. 5 or the following week at Pebble Beach. “I’ll tell you this unequivocally,” says Paulina’s dad, NHL legend Wayne. “It’s the first time I can see him say, ‘Gosh, I really miss it, and when I get back I want it to be something special.’”

Love me a good redemption story.  I hope he does really well.

My take on that article is that he says his issue wasn't one related to cocaine use.

Hmm...

Yeah that's laughable.. i guess you wouldn't expect a guy that has failed multiple drug tests for cocain use to actually admit that it is a problem. I think we killed the subject though with almost 500 posts plus another created thread about drugs.. Nothing new here.

    • I've had this one since 2021.  Amazon.com No complaints.  I had to reglue the little Velcro tabs onto the yellow foam guide thingies. But that's not a big deal. The Velcro came off almost immediately and I put them back on using super-glue and they've been fine ever since. I've hit a lot of balls off this in my garage and I have no complaints.
    • I've been thinking about buying a hitting mat for home indoors use. I currently only got a small patch of some mat I bought years ago and stand on a wooden platform. It'd be nice having a mat to stand on and hit from. After some searching, I see Fiberbuilt often being praised. Not sure if I can get hold of it easily here, and buying internationally can get expensive for a mat that's already quite pricey (~$800). The Wittek Quattro is also usually favorably mentioned, and at half the price (~$400) of the Fiberbuilt. Anyone have experince with this mat? Any other suggestions?
    • It just occurred to me that the last time I was serious about golf, my woods were made of….wood! Also interestingly (to me anyway) as I shopped for “woods”, mostly on eBay, I found that all the clubs in really nice cosmetic/aesthetic shape (good finish, nice club face, good grip) were woman’s clubs. Seems they either take really good care of them or don’t use them much.    And lastly, for now anyway, I went to a range today that has Top Tracer monitors at all the stations - another “new” development that may have been around for quite a while, but this was a first for me. I found it useful although I’m sure I only scratched the surface of its capabilities.
    • Agreed. For me, the feel was introduced to get the arms moving down from the top. It wasn't necessarily a "get it in front of the hip" explanation as the correct position but more for an exaggerated feel to get rid of the earlier issue.
