He has no shot this week. In both the Open and WGC he faded on the weekend. He's just not ready physically. There's no getting around it.

Are we about to see Tiger replay the 2008 US Open? That would be something.

The 2008 US Open is on youtube to get in the mood

I get it that his chances seem infinitesimal. But we're talking about a guy who won an Open in 91 holes on a broken leg. This is exactly how Tiger would win. (I won't be putting any money on it, but I'd love to watch it.)

My bookmaker is offering a promotion on the PGA this year. If you back someone other than McIlroy, and he wins, you get your stake back. Nice offer. On this basis I have money on Garcia and Rose.

The more I practise, the luckier I hope to get.

I'm glad to see Tiger playing and for the sake of the Ryder Cup and the tour, I'll be rooting for him to play well. With that said, I don't think most of you appreciate the huge discrepancies in games right now between the likes of Rory and Adam Scott and that of Tiger. It's night and day.

Played a round at Valhalla on the ol' xbox. Shot 61 with Tiger. This can mean only one thing.....Tiger is going to shoot 61!

I guarantee he'll shoot 61......

......probably through about 15 holes. ;-)

I like the PGA coverage a lot more than the British Open. I like the feeling of being able to wake up early and watch some featured groups while laying in bed....

That's because you're west coast. We have to wait till 1pm.

Shucks. On the PGA App or PGA.com(I presume) the featured groups start at 8:30 ET

Can someone explain to me the implication if he registers and then withdraws vs. he does not register and therefore does not have to withdraw.

Tiger Woods to play practice round at 2pm.

Now I'm really confused about this - - I thought only registered players were allowed to practice, as in alternates are not out there playing just in case they get in.

So did Tiger register, or am I mistaken about this?

The whole hasn't registered, can register up to his tee time, won't have to withdraw before the start thing confuses me - especially related to then playing a practice round.

Whatever - it would be really great to see Tiger play all 72 this week, whether he is on the leaderboard or not.

Players play, tough players win!

Just trying to keep the denial in check here. Seemed necessary considering the wishful call for a reprise of 2008 at Torrey

As big a TW fan as I am, I don't give him a snow ball's chance in hell in to win. I would be surprised if he showed up on the leaderboard....surprised, but elated as hell

A replay of 2008 means he's got to be hurt again, and I don't want that.

He's an absolute genius.  By withdrawing last week, he's set expectations extremely low for this week.  If he plays poorly, he's a tough guy who just won't let himself heal.  If he plays well, he's miraculously played through pain and injury as no one else can.

A real win win for him.......and we still haven't seen any indication that he was actually injured last week, unless you count his miserable play.

Absolute genius.

Agree, plus it means he will need to be out for  6 months again also. Don't want that either.

Yeah, you don't wanna be hearing cracking crunchy crackling noises from your back while you play. Ouch.

My doorman just said that to me though - that he thinks he'll win. He's a fair weather golf fan but a sports fanatic and he was thinking a repeat of 2008.

I just want a major with some really amped up drama. I want my drama!
