I'm not a fan of the too thin model look. She is that for me. I've always wondered what's the difference between a "model" and a "supermodel."

Supermodels get super high fees for displaying her body. Why do they get such high fees?  Now that is question to ponder because in the eyes of most men, yes, the supermodels are much too lean to be attractive/desirable. The end result of such logic is that supermodels appeal to women and act as some kind of aspirational goal, and thus can sell enormous quantities of diet pills.

Hmmmm, First instagram picture does not look like she is golfing, the vid she's teeing on the wrong side of the teebox. Last pic really looks like a nice picture of a nongolfer. So whats the verdict on her beeing a golfer? Edit: first picture is a vid. Maybe....

A supermodel is world renown and appears in the highest fashion shows, ads, has the biggest name contracts, etc. Basically, if you know their name, they're probably considered a supermodel. Women's fashion is a multi-billion dollar industry, which doesn't have anything to do with selling diet pills. Not a particular fashion fan but my 3 daughters and wife all know the supermodels.  In spite of the fact that some of the supermodels have ribs showing and may look a little malnourished, they are popular because of how they look with clothes on - they look great in anything.

Using a BMI calculator she is 4 lbs. under a healthy weight.

So many are 25, 50 or more lbs. overweight.

Using a BMI calculator I am labeled as overweight (5'9" and 170 pounds). Feel free to check out my swing videos if you want to double check, but last time I looked I'm fairly average in terms of size.

The only problem with that thinking is that a lot of people with "normal" diets are overweight due to genetics. Some people have a much harder time than others, whether it be due to their activity level or their metabolism, when it comes to managing their weight. Others have allergies (such as gluten intolerance) than can seriously affect whether they can gain or lose weight as well. I know someone who was gluten intolerant and bordering on anorexic (she ate approximately 1,000 calories a day while playing competitive softball) yet was still gaining weight to an unhealthy level. As soon as she was diagnosed with Celiac and the appropriate steps were taken, she began to lose weight so fast that she had to be hospitalized at one point.

My point is that sweeping over-generalizations (and BMI calculators ) are generally bad. Eating disorders can be equally unhealthy for those who consume too many nutrient and those who metabolize too few (through eating less or otherwise preventing them from being digested). Being underweight can lead to anemia, hair loss, lack of stamina, and a weakened immune system (as well as increased risk for osteoporosis). Neither condition (being severely overweight or underweight) is particularly healthy.

The jury is still out as to whether she's a golfer or not to me. Perhaps we could get a GHIN number?
