Funny; whenever he's playing to a half decent standard he'll soldier on in case he can win but whenever he's playing like a weekend hacker he has an injury which conveniently crops up.

Either that or he's playing like crap and the change in how he's playing really does cause injury.

Yeah.....

......must be.

Couldn't be anything else, right?

When I responded to your last comment I assumed that you were joking.  Now I'm not so sure.  Are you suggesting that he's faking an injury so he can quit?

He was +2.  If he wanted to fake an injury and quit, wouldn't he have done so last weekend before he turned in that 82?

Damn, you guys have short term memories.

Taken out of context much? How about we add the rest of the quote in there? Here, allow me:

Phil is off to a slow start too.

I don't think he's faking anything.

As soon as he said he had his "explosiveness" back............here comes trouble

I'm down to a 10 handicap. At this rate, I'll get to scratch at 90 years old!

Dude needs to seriously take a year off. I know he wants to get back to winning. He can't go more than a few events before his back is acting up. Clearly he hasn't rehabbed it well enough to sustain any sort of competitive level of golf. The guy needs to seriously reevaluate how he is handling his back.

Yeah, he's not faking. Anyone who says he is is an idiot. However, he does have problems and I hate saying this, but Tiger's career is in serious jeopardy right now. Forget breaking Jack's record. I think it's a fair and valid point to question whether Tiger Woods will ever even win a tournament again and play at a high level. This may very well be the beginning of the end for his career.

Not taken out of context at all.  You (strongly) implied that he fakes injury when he's playing like crap.  The fact that you hedged after that with an alternative option does not change that first comment in the least.  By itself, or with the addition, it still means that you think maybe he's faking it.

And my response (to both of you) was just to remind you that he didn't do any of that last week, so it's a bit disingenuous to suggest to suggest that "whenever he plays bad" he does this.

Tiger must gotten this text on the 3rd tee -

According to Jose Lambiet of Gossip Extra (a South Florida tabloid), Woods might still owe his ex-wife Elin Nordegren over $50 million as part of his divorce settlement.

That'd make anyone's arse a bit sore.....

    • It’s winter here and time hitting at my indoor place.  This year I bought and sold a few sets so I didn’t settle in on anything. For this coming season, starting now I have a choice to make.  What set would you guys use? 1.  Nike Vapor Pro irons - They are like new, hit them some last year before I had to demo other sets.  I love them, original grips, barely used so I’m almost not wanting to use them to keep their value up.  Standard LLL and standard grips. 2. Taylormade P7TW irons - Still in the box.  Got them over a year ago but had too much to hit, never used them.  Have used a set in the past and loved them.  Ended up with my own set custom fit to me -1/4”, 1 degree flat midsize grips.  These are probably not as valuable because they are still available and they are fit to me. I hate to put the Nikes away but it makes more sense to save them than the TW’s…. I dunno….
    • Day 215 (3 Dec 24) - Another very chilly day - opted to work on easy pitches in the backyard. Worked thru the irons and wedges - focused on foot position and tempo.
    • Yes. I believe in using the same ball all of the time, including chipping and putting practice. I use the orange Callaway Supersoft.  Only $25 per dozen, and sometimes on sale for $20.
    • A 5400 yd course is not that short for gents driving it 160 yards considering the approach shot lengths they are going to be faced with on Par 4s.  Also, for the course you are referring to I estimate the Par 4s have to average longer than 260 yds, because the Par 5s are 800 yds or so, and if there are four Par 3s averaging 130 the total is 1320 yds.  This leaves 4080 yds remaining for 12 Par 4s.  That is an average of 340 per hole. Anyway, if there are super seniors driving it only 160ish and breaking 80 consistently, they must be elite/exceptional in other aspects of their games.  I play a lot of golf with 65-75 yr old seniors on a 5400 yd course.  They all drive it 180-200 or so, but many are slicers and poor iron players.  None can break 80. I am 66 and drive it 200 yds.  My average score is 76.  On that course my average approach shot on Par 4s is 125 yds.  The ten Par 4s average 313 yds.  By that comparison the 160 yd driver of the ball would have 165 left when attempting GIR on those holes.
