Healthy, 83 is almost inevitable, 19 isn't impossible, but very unlikely, the only way I'd see 19 happening is if he WINS TWO MAJORS this year, People forget Jack Nicklaus was getting written off when he won the 1986 Masters... This sounds eerily similar

Jack was also 7 years older, had won his last major 6 years earlier (1980 PGA Championship), and had only won twice on Tour since 1980, the last being his own Memorial in 1984.

With Tiger's commitment to play the Masters comes even more pressure for him to perform well now. He has always said he does not enter a tourney just to be there, he is there to win. If he falls on his face after all the practice he has put in at home, odds of retirement greatly increase. If he does show a lot of improvement and has a respectable finish I think he will keep on plugging away. This is a very important week for him and his future imo. Probably just stating the obvious............

Whether tiger wins another major or tournament all depends on how he plays the next few months. If he can make big progress from where he was a month ago, even if he doesn't win anything, I think that will give him the motivation to keep moving forward. If he has been working as hard as he has the last 6 weeks or so and no progress is shown on the golf course, the I think mentally it's gonna destroy him and he will lose interest in the game much like duval, seve and others did. I truly think these next few months will truly dictate the rest of Tigers future, and next week will play a big role in that. A good showing will really help his confidence going forward. I'm praying he at least makes the cut.

I agree, but there is something about Augusta with Tiger that wakes him up... even if he doesn't win, and has a good showing (top-10 to 15) I think it would motivate him in the fact that the work he's put in has paid off... It's scary to think if he has made progress, what might happen, he may be trying for one last push at Jack's record... interesting enough if he breaks Jack's record, he breaks Sam's record too...

I don't think he's going to get to Jack's record, but I would at least like to see him break Sam's. I think he deserves to break at least one of those sacred records. I think in the end, it will be a little bit disappointing to him if he doesn't at least do that. But we'll see how it goes. I don't think any of us truly know what to expect next week. I think we're all fearing and even maybe expecting the worst.

I just want to see progress. I think progress will give him confidence moving forward and motivate him to enter several tournaments between now and Chambers Bay. But if we see the same Tiger we saw at Phoenix and Torrey Pines, I don't think you're going to see him again until at least Jack's place.

He's one of the best at approach shots and he usually gains strokes driving. I think he's okay, mostly… Chris has the book, of course. :)

I think he will make the cut. I hope to see him do better, but don't expect above top 20 in the first airing of his game since rebuilding.

With a successful big pressure return under his belt, would think he'd be back on track to break Snead's record and at least one to two more majors before age really limits him. I think around 44 or 45 he should switch his schedule to just majors and a few favorite tournaments a year and forget about trying to hold the number one spot. I think that would keep the playing fresh until he was near 50 - if he ages well.

First of all that dislocation of joint/bone yesterday sounds like BS to me. Β Pure out lie or telling a tall tale - either way, can't believe it.

Secondly, "going back the drawing board" sounds like bad news to me. Β It's something you do when you revamp your swing and unhappy. Β Find a swing and stick with it.

This going back into hibernation sounds like a dumb idea to me. Sounds like TW needs to log in some miles on the tour THIS SEASON and stop this mad scientist experimenting down at his compound in S. Florida.

At max, he should be back after two weeks off......he could have truthfully told Macatee that he' be back for Harding Park.

As Tiger and I are both non-doctors, I'd guess it was more ignorance than anything else. (If popping a joint in and out is not possible. I have no idea.)

I give him more credit to understand what a dislocated joint/bone is.

You don't have to be a medical professional to understand what that might look like.

Confabulation, imo.

Ya know @Rick Martin Google is a wonderful thing. Β You should try it once in a while. Β There are many more links. Β Most indicate mild issues can be put back in place. Β If he has done this before from a previous injury, it may pop in and out rather easily.

Understanding Wrist Dislocation and Treatment

Wrist dislocations are more serious than a sprain. When the wrist is dislocated, one or more of the bones inside the wrist has moved out of alignment, and will need to be moved back into place. This is called reduction.

In some cases, reduction can be accomplished externally with sedation. However, for more severe dislocation, surgery may be necessary to correctly align the wrist bones again. The goal of reduction is to ease the pain associated with dislocation as well as restore original alignment and ensure full rotation and function.

Real injury - real fix, period. Don’t get me wrong he’ll be sore for a week, but Tiger is a very strong person. Just goes to show everyone the importance of maintaining strength and flexibility, especially in the wrists and forearms. Go Tiger. Well done this week.

If he had told Macatee that he would have looked pretty stupid. He will not qualify for Harding Park

It never even occurred to the Rick Martins on this board that Tiger just might have been using a bit of sarcasm? Β To anyone who thinks that Tiger's injury WD's were phony, watching him tough it out after that shot should dispel those doubts. Β I know that it probably won't change their minds, but that at least says volumes about their personality deficiencies.

Playing with Rory on SundayΒ exposed just how far away Tiger is from being relevant on the golf course. But at least we now know how Lindsey Vonn came back so fast from her knee injury.
