I am a cynical guy but I am not that cynical. I am also not so naive as to think the NFC was definitely going to win the Super Bowl this year. Who would be so dumb as to say something like that mid-way through the playoffs? Back on topic {sorry} but I have seen no evidence that Tiger did PEDs. Circumstantial crap at best. Find me a golfer who has never been injured and I will show you a guy who does not play much golf or practice very often.

So now I'm dumb? You do have a way with words. I do assume all of the truly stand-out athletes of the past 20-30 years have used some kind of PED, in all sports, male and female. That doesn't mean it's true but I just assume it is. It would honestly shock me to somehow learn definitively that Tiger did not benefit from it. And, it would make me happy. I guess Hammerin' Hank used greenies along with many of his counterparts of the era. Not sure that classifies as a PED but... So, maybe the last true clean elite athlete was Jim Thorpe. Truth is, I'm not really opposed to PEDs and don't blame people for using them. There's so much competition and the average pro knows his competitors are juicing so he's just trying to keep up. Is what it is.

This is not exactly compelling evidence that PEDs are that widely used in golf, and especially in Tiger's case.

What facts?

Your facts are outweighed by the facts which say he did not do PEDs. This includes Hank Haney who could not wait to bash TIger on numerous fronts but who remains steadfast in his assertions on Tiger and PEDs. Never mind that you cannot prove a negative. Tiger is arguably one of the biggest athletes in the world-If someone had evidence of his PED use it is likely they would have come forward.

Very few players play golf and practice at golf as hard as Tiger Woods for as long as Tiger has. Very, very few. Vijay Singh is up there. It is rarified air.

The facts of his ties with Anthony Galea. Now what went on between the two, that's where everyone's opinions come in. We know Tiger saw him at least 14 times and Galea is tied to HGH and Tiger is good friends with A-Rod. Like I said, everyone can draw their own conclusions, but I just think there's a lot of smoke out there... his ties with this doctor, the timing with his ACL tear (an injury where some people use HGH to recover from), his body breaking down. Now nothing may have happened, and I truly hope it didn't. But I just have my questions.

For that prediction?-Yes.
The facts of his ties with Anthony Galea.
So in your mind Galea never treated anyone without giving them PEDs? What a sad world we live in. I would rather be naive than this cynical.

Amazing when you think about it... Tiger won 5 times just two years ago, PoY and now this... I personally don't want to see him retire anytime soon and just can't see him accepting that. Can't help but think he'd view it as a personal failure if he was to retire due to injuries..

He'll be at the Masters, with a walker if need be, trust me, just because he's missing the API this week doesn't mean anything, he didn't play the API in 2010 and finished tied for fourth at the Masters... he won't retire any time soon, probably won't play on the Champions Tour... but he'll give his best shot to get to eighteen majors... maybe this extended break from competitive golf, just may be the best decision he has ever made, I honestly think he rushed back in June last year, maybe should of taken the rest of the year off... and been healthier for the 2014-15 season... you probably wouldn't have seen the poor play in Phoenix or the Withdrawal at Torrey Pines...

I don't trust you. If he's not playing, he won't be there. And there's certainly a chance he doesn't play.

Yup, exactly.

There's four major's a year. Even if he's a longshot to win one more, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take! - Gretzky :)

Does anyone still want to put money on Tiger reaching the 83/19 win water mark?

The less he plays, the better the field gets, the older he gets I am getting less and less sure he will reach it!

83 Tour wins, probably, 19 major championships: doubtful (unless he pulls a rebirth)... Even if Tiger has a renaissance in his career as he gets older, at most I see him winning two more majors... you never know he might surprise us all 25 days from now...

Given that he gets healthy and doesn't retire I'll say yes to 83 and no to 19.

Healthy, 83 is almost inevitable, 19 isn't impossible, but very unlikely, the only way I'd see 19 happening is if he WINS TWO MAJORS this year, People forget Jack Nicklaus was getting written off when he won the 1986 Masters... This sounds eerily similar

This thread is for the discussion of Tiger Woods' retirement, something I would say there is a > 15% chance of happening by the end of 2015.

Agree 100% Tiger will hit 84 wins and 15 majors. The last will be an Augusta Masters or a PGA.

Nope.  I am at the other end.  Tiger will not win another major.  Players can come back even at age 45 in golf.   But with injuries Tiger had and the swing he has?  No way.   He swings out of his body every time.  That isn't going to help with his injuries and come back.

I told you he was playing the Masters... I don't see him winning unless he pulls a second nine on Sunday like Jack did in '86, or pull a Nick Price the same year, and open with 79 and be in the Final pair on Sunday, or go 40-30 like he did on day one in 1997... if he wins, some how he will come from behind... @iacas I think someone shoulda sent Tiger a copy of LSW, he may need to learn a little about separation value, and shot zones, and such, at least he might make the cut if he reads your book

He's one of the best at approach shots and he usually gains strokes driving. I think he's okay, mostly… Chris has the book, of course. :)

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
