Easy swings trying to get my left hip back earlier in the golf swing by putting a chair behind me and getting my left butt to hit it.

Fighting a sinus headache today, so I spent my 5 minutes on my putting address position. Handle higher, face slightly closed (to me).

Range work today. Just working on my "play" swing and hitting to different targets. Picturing a lot of the shots at San Gabriel CC I'll be hitting this week.

Hit a bucket at the range. Working on a few pieces to turn my playable pull draw into a more consistent push draw. Decided to give the last couple of balls a little something extra with the driver and wound up snapping the shaft in half on the very last ball. Had a pretty good audience for it to. Pretty impressive. Hopefully Callaway will replace it for me.

Pretty sure Callaway will replace it. Did you hit behind it or something?

30 minutes practicing my setup position.

- straighten left arm so it almost looks like an extension of shaft

- more flex in my right arm

- square up shoulders to target line (not open)

- push hips forward at setup to increase spine angle tilt

All courtesy of Evolvr lesson one. Thanks

As per suggestion Saturday of my former teaching pro, I checked my stance width.

I measured my shoulder width with a tape measure, and sure enough, I was about 3" too wide on my full swing stance w/ driver.

I brought it in  to "proper width". Practice swings feel more balanced, more consistent turn.

Also: On checking set-up, I noticed (again) that my FWs have a much more square set up than my hybrids, which have a somewhat closed face. I always need to make sure I don't accidentally "toe in" the hybrids during set-up. This is a hassle, plus the shafts are too light. I may need to get new one.

Mirror work, and swinging even slower than before. Letting my hands feel lazy. I think I need to review today's received evolvr lesson... I don't think I internalized the lazy hands part of the lesson.

Played the two weekend rounds through a nasty cold with not so bad results.   Had to call in sick b/c I could not get my body out of bed at 7 am.  Slept until noon.  A couple of good meal & medication, I feel better enough to do some light practice at home.

Did 35 balls of chipping into a round target net with SW.  Used putting motion and focused on keeping my eye on the ball through impact.   Had better result than the same previous practice.

Did anti-flipping drill with the Punisher.

Did a pitch shot practice with plastic balls.  Again focusing on consistency through impact.   I need to get this to 80% consistency.  I am not getting that yet in practice or in field.  It's costing a stroke here and there.  I am going to do this drill every day hereon until I can hit at 80% consistency.  Kirk out.

Solely did Driver practice at the range. Worked on ball position, tee height and swing path. Had mixed results which is to be expected!

Feel like crap (sore throat and congested) but if in healthy enough to go to work, then in healthy enough to do my 5 minutes working on the same priority pieces.

I did 25 minutes of mirror work.  Focused on two new items from my last Evolvr lesson.  First, getting the hands a little deeper at A4.  Second, straightening my right arm in sync with my hips from A6 through to A9.  As I speed up the swing, I am getting out of sync and the follow through is breaking down.

Did five (more than that, but that's the minimum) today with my @Torc Golf on the shaft, just below the grip, to help feel the shaft laying down just that little tiny bit.

I've eliminated myself from the badge by not posting the last couple of days, but I have practiced everyday.

Today I did some video of my 7i FO and DL.  I think I discovered a couple of things on the DL video, 1) My outside in move is creeping back in, 2) My head is coming back at impact just a little.

This is good news I think.  I've been trying to figure why I'm hitting towards the toe so often and I think I can now see why.

Today I warmed up for 20 minutes practicing key #2 on some slow swings. Then I "played" the course I am actually playing tomorrow into my net with the swing thought of transferring my weight. Then I did some more work with the clubs I don't use as much on the course, including my driver.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
