I'm already out, but I'll post anyway. It's good motivation. 10 minutes of slow mapping with a 9iron and 5 minutes filming some 3/4 swings. Real swings are starting to look more like mapping swings.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

Slow swings...half swings. Shortening the swing definitely seems to help with the right elbow location.

Did my 5 minutes this morning working on the full swing by trying different clubs and looking in the mirror to see what differences there were at A4, A6, and A8.

Practiced this drill for 30 minutes. I have no feel right now on my putts so I'm trying to get to the point where I know what different distances feel like. Then in theory I can focus more on the line and actually try to hole putts outside of 10 feet.

Played 9 at a new course to me.  Mountain View in Santa Paula, CA.  Played pretty well.  Pushed a couple of drives, but mostly power fade.  Concentrated on doing the things I have been working on in practice.  Hip shift and turn, soft arms.  Short game was great.  Hit three LW to within gimme distance from 40 yds and in.

Interesting drill.

Did putting drills while waiting for a friend to get to the course we played today. I also did some warming up and played 18, but the only real practice was the putting drills. Today's round was more social, although I still managed a 16.x differential on a tough course, so I'm happy. :-)

I'm not sure this counts but did strength training at the gym this afternoon.

To play it safe, I also did about 10 minutes when I got home practicing full swing mechanics with my 6I.

5 minute drills, but without mirror.

It took 1 whole bucket to get my swing back. Then I struggled to hit my 6i to the 180 flag with another bucket of balls. Only got a few to roll past and the rest just piddled around the distance to the pin. Gone back to hitting the MP-32s. My 7i distance is reasonable (the same as the 6i, which sucks).

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
