I always forget that you aren't in Ohio given your forum name. I haven't really done much besides go to the range yesterday, but I can just about guarantee if it was raining I'd be upset that I couldn't go golfing. I do have a round today at just after 2 though. Seems a bit strange because typically I'd have golfed all day yesterday, all day today, and at least one round tomorrow. Not sure why I haven't had the motivation to hit the course as much lately.

Been perfect for golf here in Erie, PA.

I haven't played, of course. Busy teaching and all that.

But many others have.

Nice weekend here in NJ as well. I played a round this morning which was all the golf I had planned for the weekend.

We had our rain Thursday and Friday, not steady but bands passing through, to a total of a little over one inch.  We finished league Tuesday night with a thunderstorm splitting and passing north and south of us, with just a sprinkle and no lightning here.

Not that big a deal to me as I only play on weekends for tournaments anyway. :-P

I played earlier in the week in So Cal.  Temperature was 565R, give or take.  Great day for golf.  I wish I had installed my Game Golf because I would like to take a look back at that round and analyze some decisions... :-/

What is 565R in Fahrenheit ?

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

105 degrees F, give or take.  Nice day for some golf, yet the course wasn't all that crowded.  I got used to R when I lived in a colder climate, and the higher numbers made cold weather feel a bit warmer.  It's the same scale as Fahrenheit, but is adjusted so that absolute zero is at 0R instead of -459 and change F.   R = F + 459 and change.

How obscure! I thought for sure it was a typo. Glad I asked.

It was funny, I said how the weather was nice then when I went golfing yesterday I got rained on.... First time golfing in the rain and it must be said I sucked really bad. So, either I need to play in the rain more to get better at it or just don't play in the rain anymore.... Not sure which is the better idea yet.

I must have bee absent that day from high school physics. I remember Kelvin, but not Rankine.

Meanwhile, back to the range. Trying to get my driver distance past 1.25 Furlongs....

Not that I had golf planned or anything, but I started my day off by getting called into work. I can't think of anything more American than having to working overtime on a day off. :-P

Happy 4th everyone!

We got poured on saturday afternoon, yesterday was a no go, and this morning we walked in a mist.

Figures it would be bright and sunny this afternoon.

If you ever need rain where I live, just make it a holiday weekend. Never fails.

    • Day 190 (08 Nov 24) - Worked with the putter this morning, while watching the Champions Tour on the Golf Channel, working right hand - higher/lower - finding a slightly higher right hand seems to add more consistent roll.  Later today moved outside to work with tempo and slightly shorter backswing to get better low point control - hitting 6i into the net.  Solid session except for the next to last ball that I got over the net and into the wild blue yonder….managed to sheepishly retrieve it from the neighbor’s back yard two doors down….
    • My driver is slower, relatively, at only like 103 mph when I play. I know it should be higher than that with an 88 mph 8-iron, but I have to slow down to find the middle of the face. I'm hoping to get it closer to where it should be, at some point in the next year. I just noticed my embedded swing removed frames of 6 and 7, so if anyone want to see them you can click the video to watch on YouTube directly. Here are those missing frames though: The LiveView camera gives me just enough frames I think to help me during these range sessions. It helps the most in between swings, where it's easy for me to review the previous swing, position the camera well for the next one, make rehearsal swings as if I was looking at a mirror and then seeing my setup and takeaway. It's hard for me to observe more than that during the swing itself, but if I go half speed, I can observe 4 and my transition quite a bit and work on that with it too.
    • Oh, that's good then.
    • Thank you!  Here in the video I'm going slower than normal. Maybe like 80mph only at best. On the course it's probably like 90ish mph. The last time I measured my 8-iron going full it was going 88mph and that was in late August.
