I told my boss that hes been killing the work force. He failed to take action. I worked 132 hours in the last two weeks. Id work my normal shift in the am and was then forced to stay and work another shift. And all this in 125-130 degree heat. Yesterday during performance of my duties I tore something in my shoulder. Im now outta work and likely in need of surgery. Luckily, I got to play golf with my dad for the first time in three years, just three days prior to blowing out my shoulder. But now it looks like no golf for a long time. Im also not likely to have it resolved before my family trip to disney in 35 days. I am so bummed. :(

Are you working on the sun?

More or less. Tarmac in North Texas during August is pretty much the same thing.

Aside from those who are dependent on you; your health supersedes all else.  Take some time off and come back stronger than ever.  The whole world will be better off.

Ive really lowered my handicap and scores and Ive just recently been hitting my long clubs well. I fear that by the time I return to golf, all will be lost and Ill have to learn how to play all over again. Its also my only hobby til the NHL returns in october. :(

I have a story for you. Perhaps it will cheer you up for about thirty seconds.

My friend's dad was in Vietnam. He saw serious action. The first day he was there, he was posted on guard duty on a runway (I believe Danang). He had heard about how hot it was in Nam, but as he was standing there on the runway in full gear, he didn't think he could take it. It was so oppressively hot that he felt that he was possibly seconds from passing out. Then somebody yelled, "Get out of the jetwash, asshole."

Lol. That does indeed help. Thanks. Had to post about my situation cus nobody else gets the golf part. (People who see the sling my arm is in get the bum shoulder part....just not so much the golf withdrawal part. ;)

After being injured last year I get it. I was doing great and scoring low early in the in the season. Then I got hurt and no matter how hard I tried to get better, nothing worked. The first 3 weeks were utter pain seeing people on the golf course. After a while I just got busy doing other things and the itch subsided and I did other things. Hopefully it is just a minor strain and you will be back to your 130 hour work weeks in no time...

I have an idea how you feel.  I had four-level cervical fusion surgery in April of last year (2015), and while I was cleared six months later to start working my way back toward a full swing it became an exercise in completely starting over.  I had to slowly regain my touch inside 125 yards and on the green.  Worst of all, I had to put my full swing back together from ground zero.  Sixteen months post-surgery, I'm just now at the point where I'm around 80-84, about three to five strokes off what I was used to shooting.

Be patient with yourself---getting your old game back will take some time.

Consider yourself lucky you don't live in the UK. It could quite easily be a year before you go under the knife.

Odyssey putter, 20 Bridgestone e6 balls, 2 water balls for the 5th hole, loads of tees, 2 golf gloves, a couple of hand warmers, cleaning towel, 5 ball markers, 2 pitch mark repairers, some aspirin, 3 hats, set of waterproofs, an umbrella, a pair of gaiters, 2 pairs of glasses. Focus on getting your shoulder better. Can you get physical therapy? Others have told me that's the most effective treatment.

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

I guess we'll have to wait for our round at the Trails.  Hang in there bud.

Stealthwk - sorry to hear about your shoulder & for living in North Texas!

I lived in Houston for 16 years, not as hot but lots of humidity . . . and a healthy rivalry with the D/FW area
