Some decent, but not great results, USO local, but couldn't get past sectionals, made cuts at 2 Web.com events. Will be interesting to see club selections this weekend though.

I saw this yesterday. I am interested in seeing his progress. And I agree about the club selection as well.

He's only 28. Felt like he's been around a long time. Thought he was in his mid 30s.

He has been around a long time. His last long drive championship was back in 2009.

I was always more impressed with his long drive abilities because of how much smaller he is than anyone else that competes.

Yes and he generates a lot of clubhead speed.

I could honestly see him hitting a lot of 2-irons off the tee, but he carries that 280. With any accuracy with the driver, 1 and 11 will be Driver, and a mid-iron on 1, maybe driver, 4-iron on 11.

I would love to see Jamie make the cut, and be in good position on the weekend to get a some weekend TV coverage, especially with Tony Romo in the booth on the weekend (for a short time, but still)

It would  be cool to see him get his card and do well, in this age of specialists from day 1, someone takes a different route and makes it.

The ESPN leaderboard shows the times for the guys that haven't tee'd off yet also. Still dont see him on there.

Looks like he is on the golf.com leaderboard though.

I did not get a chance to watch any of his first round yesterday, but he should be fun to watch playing on tour.

Jamie Sadlowski Tour Preview

Quote

It was roughly a year ago that Jamie Sadlowski decided to retire from his career as a long drive champion to pursue his dream as a pro golfer. (Stan Badz/PGA TOUR)

FORT WORTH, Texas – Jamie Sadlowski’s first tee shot in his first round of his first PGA TOUR start travelled 365 yards.

Nobody was surprised.

The two-time winner of the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship is expected to hit it far. But the Canadian native is determined to prove he’s more than just a bomber. That he can use all 14 clubs in his bag and can manage his way around the golf course – and not just impress fans at the range.

“I look at this as I’m trying to start a new career and I’m working hard at it,” Sadlowski said after his 3-over 73 left him tied for 75th after Thursday’s first round of the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational. “At the end of the day, I want to prove myself I can play out here.”

It was roughly a year ago that Sadlowski decided to retire from his career as a long drive champion – he had performed in approximately 600 exhibitions and show – to pursue his dream as a pro golfer.

He’s played a handful of Web.com Tour and Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada events, as well as some overseas events in Australia. But Thursday was the first time he had teed it up in a PGA TOUR event. It was just his 51st competitive round as a pro.

JS teed off back nine, as of late morning in trouble:

  • No. 13..190 yd. par 3: Two into water, quad bogie 7
  • No. 15..430 yd. par 4: Hit 337 yd. drive into left rough, two chunky wedges set up 6

Birdied Nos. 1 and 2 on front, but he's still +7... cut projected at +2.

On which tour did you plan on watching him play? I'm pretty sure he's not even a regular player on the Web.com Tour. This is probably a one and done kind of thing.

In all honesty he hasn't been that fun to watch. He's not really cranking the drives because he needs to keep them in play and he's clearly not good enough to compete with PGA Tour players. If he wasn't who he was, he wouldn't even be getting air time.

Well, goodness, that's half of the players they show during a telecast. ;-)

    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
    • Day 96 (18 Mar 24) - Continued work with the Divot Board with the GW and hard foam balls.  Focused on small target/small miss…setup to hit target about 30yds out - success if it hit within 6’ circle of target, fail if outside.  Had decent success averaging about 3 out of 4 (hitting in groups of four).
    • Wordle 1,003 3/6 🟩🟩🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩   felt a little like Wyndham when the first three green and I began the fist pump…
    • I'm relieved someone finally defined hiking. I was giddy when I saw these new TPI videos a day or so after they dropped. Very easy to understand the problem and solution the way they have presented it. Been working on fixing this for about a year and a half now. It's nice to be able to call it something so communication becomes easy.  I was working on more lateral and up too, but just having someone define it clearly in video form was so helpful for me to continue confidently with what I thought was wrong and how I had to fix it.  My conceptual error here was just trying to rotate like a tour pro but without including the necessary forward pressure/weight shift associated with enough lateral and upward motion of the pelvis.  This video is great too, as is Greg Rose.
    • Day 2.    couple mins of rolling putts end over end.    10 mins of Slow, mirror work, working on starting the downswing and impact wrist positions. Hit a couple balls into the net after.    Then finished with a couple chips to see if I could repeat what I worked on yesterday.
