Dude… c'mon. You've made a number of these jerky posts since you joined.

Of course I can see the difference. I said "I wouldn't call this pronounced." IMO, it's not. It's subtle. And not all of the black area is "the leading edge." Some of it is the toe and the heel.

As for the "twist" being "significant," agree to disagree.

Definitely there when you have a standard driver right next to it. I wonder if it’s enough to do what they claim?

I created a topic when they officially got announced by TaylorMade, you can read more about it here

As far as people actually trying it out, there are dozens of YouTube and written reviews about both the M3 and M4 clubs already. I would start there.

If Cobra implemented some version of this, why didn't reviewers talk about it more? I don't see much written about it, but I don't follow equipment news at all. Same with Adams? I guess that TM has more eyeballs and makes a big marketing hubbub about it, that gets attention.

As I understand it, TM is the first to make it the primary focus of advertising.

I'm not buying it. This guy gets paid by TM for crying out loud! Let's see what Mark Crossfield has to say about it ;-)

I asked the PGA Superstore salesman last week when they would get them in, they didn't have a solid date. So not in stores near me (NY) yet.

Pretty sure the commercials say February.

It’s hard to discuss it since none of us has tested it so I’m just going with that I’ve seen from people testing it online. The twist face doesn’t seem to make a huge difference. I personally do not care about looks so I don’t comment on that. Until the pga lifts some rules so we can truly see what technology can do, we won’t see any changes. I guess the good news is the m1 and m2 which are my favorite drivers will now be sold at a lower cost. I actually just picked up a m2 3 wood for $70 from a golf shop.

Now for the important question- When do the M1's and M2's get discounted to a reasonable level?

Well, answers that... This Week- 2017 M2's down to $299 at Rockbottomgolf.

Give a few weeks and that will likely drop a bit more. And I expect another "flash" sale at Golf Galaxy or Dick's in the next few weeks. Just need to be vigilant and read the email promotions

I came looking for a thread on this topic since I saw my first "Twist Face" ad today watching the Farmer's. One of the more bizarre things I have ever seen in golf! I find it interesting that there are Pringles ads on the site right now since that is what the clubface looks like! According to the ads, mid-Feb. is when we might expect to see them in stores.

I'm guessing that TM needed to come out with some really hot news since Callaway ate their lunch, and also breakfast and dinner, in driver sales last year.

According to this thread their marketing hype makes no sense, and I agree. My heelers come out low, and my toe jobs come out high! Sounds like total BS!

Club manufactures are making sticks that are forgiving on sweet spots and now this. I don't like the way equipment is heading. If you want to strike the ball so it goes down the middle. GO PRACTICE

If this tech works, people should use it.

My comparison is with shooting. If I get a ball musket I can only shoot so accurately. Only a few elite shooters can get 5 moa accuracy with it. No matter what 99% of shooters will never get there. Change that to a 5.56 MSR then over 90% of the people can shoot that tight.

What’s the point of attempting to do something nearly impossible?

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.

    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
