I often see golf mag articles covering topics shortly after seeing them discussed here.


That could also be a little confirmation bias or whatever it's called (I'm pretty sure it's not "confirmation bias"), too. Like when you get a new car and start seeing them everywhere. Most magazines (the print ones) put their issues to bed two months before the release, and sometimes up to eight or nine months in advance for the instructional content, or as many as 13 months for those involving PGA Tour players.

Those three keys you see on Martin Hall's show have been around for at least 30+ years that I know of. I am surprised he does not have control (of the club head) listed also. Balance, rhythm, and swing path have been around for a few decades too.

I think a lot of the older teachings are just worded differently by today's swing gurus, which makes them seem like new swing ideas to the younger generation of golfers. I will admit that that some of the newer wording makes the older stuff easier to understand. Nothing wrong with the new stuff. .

It's colloquially called the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon, also known as the frequency illusion.

So, if anyone caught School of Golf last night, I'm starting to think that Martin read LSW since he demonstrated one of the indoor putting drills in the book.
