Depends on how the round goes. Sometimes it's the sound of the trunk closing after putting the clubs away.....

While it's not heard anymore, I still think the sound of a ball hit on the sweet spot on a persimmon driver is the best.

I have an old set of Haig Ultras and have taken the driver to the course with me. Just hearing that sound again when I hit it a few times made a flood of memories come rushing back.

I've had a good day if I don't fall out of the cart...

This guy makes some good audio of one...  Three or four shots.  No music or talking.

There's something to be said for modern driver sound, too.  I love the "note" of my Tour Edge Exotics.  The rolling thunder makes a cool background track.

Was that Caitlyn back in the day?

Now that I've stopped shooting Diet Coke through my nose...

It's actually Jack Hamm: Long Driver, Con Artist.   My dad bought one of those clubs for like $10 at the flea market.  Total junk.  Like hitting the ball with soft lead.  And the shaft had an airfoil shape which made it almost completely rigid.

The sound of golf spikes in the parking lot.  Never to be heard again.

Wow, you're right.  That "crunch-crunch-crunch" was sublime!  Don't some of the tour pros still use spikes?  I seem to remember Tiger slipping on a cart path during a swing due to hard spikes just a few years ago.

I played with a guy, Jim (I think its a stage name, I play with alot of Jims), whos strike sounded like to sound they play on pga tour telecast.  It sounded pure and his ballflight was nice.

So after they empty their pockets to you they ask, ‘ So Erik...what do you do for a living?’ Lol.

My voice, when my opponent asks where do we stand [front nine, back nine, or overall] ... "you are down # of strokes".

Is there anything sweeter sounding than the whoosh-plink! of a well struck 3 wood?

Personally I like the tinkling metal sound my belt makes while I'm tucking in my shirt.  Other than that a driver sounds way better than a 3-wood. A 3-wood off the tee sounds like laying up.
