LIV Golf’s UK arm, which manages all of LIV’s operations outside of the U.S., filed its 2023 financials this week.

The Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund's investment in LIV Golf could approach $5 billion by the end of this year based on financials reported by LIV Golf’s UK arm (and excluding its U.S. business).

LIV Golf’s financials were put under the microscope by Money in Sport, a newsletter following the money that is published on Substack.

LIV Golf’s UK arm, which manages all of LIV’s operations outside of the U.S., filed its 2023 financials this week.

Among the notable figures:

Revenues picked up in 2023 from $4.9 million to $37.1 million, with Australia providing 45 percent of the annual total ($16.6 million) based on the LIV Adelaide tournament.

Tournament hosting fees made up 37 percent of revenues, the largest category of income. Broadcast rights income amounted to only $3 million (8 percent of total revenue).

For any non-state organization, losses like this would be at the end of a death spiral. However, when dealing with a large sovereign wealth fund, where profit is not a motive, monetary losses are expected when trying to reach the objective. The PGAT handing negotiations over to Trump is the bigger news. Any DOJ antitrust investigation will either go away or quash a deal, depending on what Trump wants. The question is what can the Saudis give Trump, personally or politically, in exchange for a Saudi/PGAT deal?

LIV made a big mistake scheduling an event this week. A lot of the top LIV players are eligible to play on the DP World Tour and they could have been playing at the Scottish Open this week with the top players on the PGA Tour. It would have been a good chance for exposure outside of the Majors. Nobody watches LIV golf.

LIV golf actually got 2 pages in this month's GOLF magazine. It was kind of interesting. The magazine walked a thin line between bagging on the shortcomings and trying to build it up.

The magazine's main point seemed to be that the managers play a critical roll for each team in LIV. They compared it to baseball managers. To which I though "hmm.... ???"

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Do they run out on the course and kick sand from the bunkers on the green and yell at rules officials?

    • Day 86 (26 Jul 25) - Down at the beach place, had kept the clubs with me after playing yesterday.  Spent time this afternoon checking them over and brushing grooves on the wedges and irons.  Spent a few minutes working thru the swing process…working in slo mo through backswing and proper weight shift.
    • . I've been Playing Golf for: 10 years, 1 year consistently  My current handicap index or average score is: 100 My typical ball flight is: fade The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: inconsistent ball strike   I caught the bug about a year ago and have been playing roughly once a week. Have been getting better with my short game and putting but my ball striking from tee and fairway lets me down. Had my first lesson last month which identified an over the top swing compensated by an open club face. Have been trying everything to get on plane over the last month. Have found that using a bend and press into my left leg as the trigger for my downswing coupled with finding the turn and rotation in both my arms to release the club properly has helped my get nearer to the correct plane. Video below is where I am with it currently. Haven’t taken this new swing to the course yet! Any comments or suggestions are welcome  Videos:  I've been Playing Golf for: 1 year properly  My current handicap index or average score is: 100 av score
    • That's always been the deal. You put in the work hyper focused on ONE or at most two things, so that you don't have to think about anything except a single feel or the target or something on the course.
    • Blind squirrel finds a nut and putted well. no, I decided to play a round being athletic rather than paralyzing myself with swing thoughts. I have no clue if I was doing what I worked on. It was the last day and I was tired of freezing at the top of the swing not know if one of four outcomes were going to happen.
    • Day 299 - 2025-07-26 I spent 15 minutes practicing but it was almost pointless. It wasn't good practice. I was not really in it, but I put the time in. Oh, I did some chipping work before-hand, and that was good. I could have just left after that. 🙂
