I was hoping Rory would get it done today but Cam Smith went out and got it.

Where’s the jxdama comment on the course being too easy/not a proper test?

I’m going on the Sunday so no rain then please😀. 3rd time at the open in St Andrew’s. Its not the best course for viewing, the fairways are all higher than the viewing spots, but loads of good grandst

If you had told me at the beginning of the that day Rory would go bogey free and Hovland would be over par, I would have said Rory won by 5-6. Kudos to Cam Smith. But what a missed opportunity for Rory.

Closest I think of was the 2018 Masters, in the last group but 3 behind Reed. He got it to within 1 after 2 but then immediately fell back. There’s been a lot of top 10s for him, but nothing that close.

This was probably the closest shave he's had, but man has he been close quite a bit these last eight years. So tough to win one of these things.

Well I had a great day out yesterday at St Andrew’s.  The course was incredibly hard under foot,  even after the mornings rain.  
We spent time on 3,4,15,16,17 and walked out to the 11th green to watch the leaders come through. 
Watched the last hour back in the beer garden, it’s hard to see enough on the course to figure out what’s going on.
Great atmosphere and I spoke to a lot of Americans who had combined a golf holiday with the week. One group were on a golf cruise around Scotland - I did something similar around the Caribbean 20 years ago when I worked on the cruise ships. They were loving it.

I was hoping for Rory to catch him. I honestly wanted to see a playoff, but Rory just couldn't get anything to drop from distance and he wasn't hitting the ball close enough to get a better look.

Exciting Open right to the end. For some reason, I couldn't get the DVR broadcast from my local NBC station. But it did record on NBC Universo, so I watched that. Same video feed, only with Spanish speaking announcers. I didn't miss the English commentary one bit, and heard a lot of "fabuloso" and "quattro birdies" in the background. In short, I could figure out the drama without the need for commentary. Just like "being there".
