I have 1 and a few close calls.  It was on a short par 4, about 250 yards.  Drilled a 5 wood, and it looked good from the jump.  Did not see it go in the hole (too far away to an elevated green) but was delighted to find it in the jar!  That was a hangover I wish on no one!  Next time (fingers crossed) I am going for anice dinner instead!

At the driving range I dropped one in the cup from about 100 yards...

The closest I've been has been at Treetops in Gaylord, MI this year on the par 3 course #9.   I was about 18" out.

I've only seen one, and that was on my birthday no less, by a guy who'd been playing for 50+ years and it was his first one. I guess I may have to wait another 46 years before my number comes up!

Too many holes-in-one to count...in putt-putt.

Real course, a big ole goose egg.  Been within a foot or hit the pin probably ten or so times.  One day...

Only one on September 26, 1998. It was on a 175 yard par three at my home course that (unfortunately) no longer exists. I used a Ping Eye 2 five iron and a Titleist balata golf ball. I keep hoping the second one is out there somewhere.

None, although once I've had the ball bouncing of the flag pole once on a short par 3 of 110.

Another time, a newbie guy in my foursome hit driver off the tee on a par 3 180 yard hole. It started left, fade a little, landed in the very left front corner of the green, then rolled about 30 feet into the hole. Lucky bastard!

Zero, none, zilch, nada, nought, nil, love, aught, zip.

Been closest with an 8 iron and a 6 iron where the ball once rolled just past the hole and once stopped 15 cm short.

58 years of golf and zero holes in one. Hit the pin several times, damaged the hole once on the fly but bounced out. I've given up one a hole in one. I have had them lip out and made so many long wedge shots but no score of 1. :-(

I have to revive this thread to say, none until now, but that all changed yesterday!

It was a high little draw 5 wood into a 174 yards pin, a nice looking shot that hardly left the flag. The wind was quartering from the right and into, in a dense air (the 5 wood is my 190-195 club normally).  The ball landed about 1/3 deep into the green, rolled a bit and I lost it.  When I arrived at the hole, the ball wasn't on the green, nor at the back and it couldn't have rolled way over the little hill behind the hole, so I checked the hole... and there it was!

I had a witness too, but he declined a stop at a nearby bar, as the bar/restaurant of the course had been shut down by the city (it's a muni course) over some violations more than a year ago. It was not as dramatic as some other holes in one where you can see the ball go in from the tee and you have a dozen buddies to share this with, but it counts just the same. :-)

On Sunday, March 11, 2007, I hit a pretty little draw toward a downhill green. I turned away, knowing it was good and on the green. I heard, "It's going in the hole!" I turned back to see...Nothing! Not only that, but the club had a hole-in-one pot. Had I put up my measly bucks, I could have gone home with about $900! The best part was that I only had to buy drinks for a few folks, it being late on Sunday afternoon. But I do still have the ball...an old Titleist I had found the day before. -Marv

Excellent! The fact the weather was difficult makes it even better!

I have had 2. My junior and senior years of high school, so 12 years ago.

First one was at my home course. We have a par 3 from an elevated tee so you can see the entire green, probably 150 or so yards was the playing distance. The green slopes left to right, with the pin the the back.  I hit a 7I, landed in the middle and hit tracked like a putt all the way in the hole. Funny thing is, a couple weeks earlier, I had put one on the back lip at the same hole and nearly the same pin position.

The 2nd was at a team practice round before an Invitational. The team was in 2 groups. I was on the first one. The previous hole had an elevated green that gave a great view of the par 3. It was only 100 yards. I hit a sand wedge, it landed 6 inches in front of the pin, went past and and spun back into the cup. My coach got me a trophy for that ball.

In my bag:

3 Wood 906 F4 w/ Aldila Proto "By You"
Irons: MP 30 w/ Rifle 5.5 Wedges Oil Can 50*, Vokey SM 54* and 58*Putter: C-06

One. July of 2015 had it in front of my wife (and 7 strangers) the one and only time she's ever watched me play. Long story short I was supposed to play with a friend he cancel and I ended up with an ace. I was a foot short of another one on the same hole last year.  It's definitely luck but so are most of my good shots.

    • Day 133 (25 Apr 24) - Worked with the Divot Board today added a piece of cardboad behind the ball to help reinforce ball first contact. Contact improved through the round.   Added grandson's football goal posts about 10yds out to add a good start line visual Good session today.
    • Day 120: 4/25/24 Full Speed Spectrum training session. Low energy today and my speed was lower than normal. Will see what I can do on Saturday.
    • Day 541, April 25, 2024 Ten minutes after lessons. Still not caught up, but should be by tomorrow evening.
    • Playing irons only may lead to some short-term gains, but you'll want to at least practice with the driver if you ultimately have some decently good goals.
    • He plays from 68.3 / 124.  A combo tee setup of normal mens and seniors.   I play from 69.7/127.   He left after taking a triple on 14 and then leaving.  Which plays to what I think his plan is,   He doesn’t stroke on 14 but would have to take bogey for non completed holes on the way in.   Maybe that’s giving him too much credit, but he found a way to add 4 shots to his score over three holes so….     I looked up his last 20 rounds in GHIN and he has a lot of rounds at easier courses (rating and slope) that are higher than his normal rounds at home.   Since I mostly have his front nine score during the match (36) to go on, he has three nine hole scores at our course posted that are 41-43. I wrote the whole thing up to the head of our golf association who runs all the tournaments.  Our pro is not involved officially in the tournaments because the golf associations are separate from the club.   He’s pretty well known for this, however I was pretty shocked at how well he played carrying a 15.   I think eventually they will do something, a lot of people have complained.  The golf association threw someone out a couple of years ago and it was a three month situation where the guy retaliated.  They probably are hesitant to go thru anything like that again.  That is a rather crazy story I might post about later.
