Florida bound on Saturday, woo hoo!  Getting away form the crappy weather.  Going to be playing lots of golf.

I haven't shanked a ball in months.

That's it Gator & Spackler!!! I'm gonna buy a 2004 Buick LaSabre and drive it down to Florida, find out where and when you play golf, make sure I get ahead of you in traffic with my Michigan plate

40's and 50's next week in NYC.

I'm bringing my clubs home!

This weekend 50s and 60s, next week, not so much, 30s and 40s. Some courses won't open until all the snow is gone. Driving by a couple of courses, I saw lots of snow (and geese?), but if the forecast is accurate, the weekend should melt it away.

I think Clearview is open all the time.  Haha.

My sources tell me that there isn't much snow on the ground in NYC right now so I figure by Monday or Tuesday it should be good to go!

68 degrees in Ohio yesterday.  I was great but it was weird.  I grew up in Wisconsin and lived there until I was 32.  I honestly couldnt remember very many years where we did have snow for Christmas, so to have it be almost 70 degrees a few days before Christmas is very strange to me.

It's weird here too. Not the not having snow bit, but anything in even the 50s is rare, let alone the 60s.

My son just got back from a week in St. Augustine and the first thing he said was "If you ever want to play your best golf, play for a few months on dormant Bermuda and then go to Florida where the grass is green. Every chip you hit will be like the easiest thing you've ever done."

Talk about depression, I have new Cobra AMP Cell irons sitting in the garage, but I can't touch them because I just had back surgery! We have a heated range here where I could be swinging away but no.... I'm stuck on the couch for the next few weeks and can't swing a club for the next few months, this sucks big time!

On the bright side, winter solstice was yesterday so now the gradual change from nighttime to daytime is starting! As in we will start getting more daytime. This only points to spring and brighter days is the way I look at it. Rather than the beginning of winter. Yuck. 4 more months til the Masters guys, hang on

So things are looking up! I like the optimism.

Use urethane covered balls instead of surlyn and you'll be fine in sub 32...we got snow that's not going away so I decided to practice my bunker swing by using the 'line drill' in the snow, felt good to make a few swings

    • It's tough.  Good luck.   CBS New reported this morning that China is not giving the WHO all of the data they have on the virus.   It's assumed, according to CBS News, that the virus came from bats and was denied access to a cave where it is assumed to originated.
    • I would not change a thing, but Wednesday, five days after our second Pfizer shot, I noticed some bumps on the back of my head, in addition to the golfball bump.  I am never sick, but Friday I was diagnosed with Shingles.  My doctor-type-person said that can happen when your immune system is being manipulated.  I see on the Internet, it's happened to others. Shingles is everything it's advertised to be!!!!!
    • I’ll be honest about music on the course, I hate it!  No matter how low people play their music the sound travels. Playing it in a group that says it’s ok doesn’t make it ok if other people on the course can hear it.     To each their own I guess. USGA Rule 4.3 4) Audio and Video. Allowed. Listening to audio or watching video on matters unrelated to the competition being played (such as a news report or background music). But in doing so, consideration should be shown to others (see Rule 1.2). Not Allowed. Listening to music or other audio to eliminate distractions or to help with swing tempo, or Viewing video showing play of the player or other players during the competition that helps the player in choosing a club, making a stroke, or deciding how to play during the round. See Committee Procedures, Section 8; Model Local Rule G-8 (the Committee may adopt a Local Rule prohibiting or restricting the use of audio and video devices during a round).
    • Often scrambles are played in a 4 person team format.  Like ABCD events.  But certainly in 2 person team format, letting the opponent decide would work for me.
