Never seen him hit left handed out of the air. When and where was this?

I guess I'm going to go negative, but I don't think that Tiger will return to prominence on the PGA Tour.  Just to much competition in the current atmosphere to take this much of a layoff.

Not sure if anyone had posted this, but I thought it was fun to watch. It's not really an hour and 23 it's 26 minutes that is looped 3x apparently.

The thread was started two years ago. The last post in that thread was on Tuesday ;). It's a popular thread :)

I think too many people get paid to write about other things happening.  Some of the author's "facts" are just the fact that someone else expressed an opinion.  Not exactly damning evidence.

I think Tiger wants to play again because he probably doesn't know what to do with himself otherwise.  At the same time, he probably knows that he's not going to be the same, dominant player and has trouble accepting that.

I think the idea of 39-40 year old golfer hanging it up for good is pretty ridiculous.

We're going to see Tiger return to competitive golf at some point. The press is blowing up those wedge shots at congressional into some kind of Freudian premintion.

Tiger will definitely play again for the simple reason he does not want to go out the way he is going out. I think he realizes the major record has probably slipped away, but I think he would still like to break Snead's record. It would be a bit of a disappointment if he doesn't get that record. But I'm sure he wants to end his career on a positive note. If he never swings again, I'm not sure I would call that going out on a positive note.

If a Tiger withdraws from the U.S. Open, and no one on the Sand Trap makes a post about it for several hours, has he really withdrawn at all?

I don't think we will see Tiger tee it up for 2016.

I just think it goes back the point I made a couple months ago that the game has moved on from him. Wasn't even one of the top stories on ESPN. Yes he still brings in big ratings....I get it....but people don't expect him to contend anymore. If he plays, he plays. If he doesn't, oh well. Not like he was gonna contend anyways.

If he was playing ESPN would have blown up like crazy. So no, we haven't moved on from him. He still moves the needle. He will again when he returns.

    • Just wanted to update an old thread on replacements for The Club Caddy Clip. The reason for this post is to let those who remember "The Club Caddy" that held your clubs upright when needing more than one club, around the green, on the green, approach shots or whatever, to keep the grips dry and keep you from bending over. I broke mine about 3yrs ago, so I was determined to develop my own design, which is close to the original, with a wider and beefier stance for stability. I have had success and used mine for over 2yrs now and sold a few Internationally also. Limited Supply because I manufacture these myself. Takes time to replenish supplies to assemble. Comes with bag clip and carabiner. See attached photos. My grass, where these were taken, is 3.5 to 4 inches long. You can see it stands no problem on flat, on hill, which is about 30 to 45 degrees, grip facing uphill, grip facing downhill. No having to fiddle with it to stand correctly. I know there is skepticism out there about just laying your clubs on a towel and then picking them up when finished instead of purchasing an accessory that stands them up, so you don't forget them. We.ve all, or at least most of us, forgot our clubs around the green at some time or another. So, you can possibly lose your expensive club, or just purchase this accessory for less than $20. Choice is yours. Go to theclubpin.com to purchase yours now.
    • Late to the party here. But, yeah, most of us have gone through something like this.  I've been playing since 1993. My HCP has been as high as 36 and as low as single digits a couple of times.  In addition to what everyone is saying above. Some really good advice from @saevel25, @3jacker, @gbogey and of course, @iacas. Here's another thing to try.  Find some kids in your life that you like. Invite them to a par-3 course. (We have one by us where most of the holes are 50 to 90 yards. The longest hole is like 140 yards.) Play 9-holes at a par-3 course with 1 to 3 young kids.  Repeat steps 1 through 3 until you are smiling and loving golf again.  Back when my kids were little, my wife and I would take our son and daughter out to the par-3 course. Then she and I hit all the tee shots then the two of them would chip or putt until they get the ball in the hole. My wife and my son vs me and my daughter made for a pretty close competition and a lot of fun. Be sure to laugh at yourself.
    • My range has become mat only as well. I actually don't have a problem switching from mats to grass and back again. I find that if I'm hitting well on mats I tend to hit it well on grass. When I'm not hitting it well on mats, I won't hit it well on grass. I will say I don't ever hit those huge buckets of balls some guys will hit, and I take time to really stretch out my elbows and forearms. I used to get golfers elbow, but I seem to have beaten that.  Here are some tips: Hit fewer balls. Work on reversals more and slow-mo more before stepping up and hitting a ball.  You may want to switch to graphite shafts. Or at least go to play-it-again-sports and pick up a cheap set of graphite shafted clubs. ... Heck, maybe even just a practice 7 iron and a PW. I switched to graphite about 6-7 years ago, I wouldn't want to go back.  If your range will allow it, and I find most will if I just ask politely, bring some chalk with you and draw a short line on the mat. Place the ball on that line and be sure to hit ball first and leave the line. (In lieu of that you can simply put a piece of paper behind the ball and try not to hit the paper.) It won't help your shoulder, but it will prevent you getting used to the "mat-forgiveness-bounce-shot".  BTW - Instead of chalk, I've seen guys put a strip of duct tape.  Work on drills. There are literally hundreds of golf drills out there. Pick ones that attack your weaknesses and work on those. I'm sure your swing coach can guide you on what to work on.  If you want to drop some cash you can get a small "Divot Action" or "Fairway Pro" type mat and place it next to your ranges mats. You can stand on the range mat and hit off the divot action mat. Here's an older review on the Fairway Pro:    Good luck.  Let us know about your progress.
    • I have been there my friend. What I did was get a few lessons from a good instructor who advised me to only work on changing one thing at a time and he gave me a few drills which really helped with that change. It sounds like you're willing to put in the work, the hard part is figuring out what exactly to work on. Hang in there!
    • Hello all. Last year, my closest and favorite range got rid of their grass range, now it's mats-only. Now I'm finding that my iron play is deteriorating because I'm not used to hitting down on the ball and creating a divot. I'm now "afraid" to hit the ground because on mats it vibrates the hell out of the club and also flares up my shoulder injury. What to do? Thanks!
