9.5° but I think it's set at 10.25° or so.

It sure seems like a lot more information is needed for this to be relevant, like what kind of head design (low launch, high launch, etc.) and what kind of shaft design (low launch, high launch, etc.).  That said, I'm playing at 8.5 now, with a mid-launch 913 D2 head and low launch Speeder 6.2 X shaft.

Most drivers now are designed to launch it higher with low spin characteristics. So you'll more than likely see guys lofting up.

A geezer I play with uses a 7.5 degree 913 but, as he explained, when fitted because of his swing by the time he is smacking the you know what out of the ball the loft is more like 10.5 degrees at ball impact. Regards Mailman

My latest beast is the geek "dot com this" head at 12*, it's a low launching low spin head and recommended to play a lift higher than you normally would. I got an Aldila vs proto, in regular at 44.75 fitted and I'm no longer interested in any other driver! The flight is superb, a mid/high boring trajectory with tons of roll! I bought this monster, practically new on eBay, from the USA, for $100! It was a steal at that price!

Yeah mines ok, it's the DCT 551 limited edition ones that are non conforming, the 12* is conforming but all the other lofts aren't due to a measurement at the hosel being illegal apparently!

Shouldn't it be a 15 degree driver for all those low left hooks

It would if I could Matt, it would if I could. :-D Actually, as of late my miss has been two counties to the right.

My G10 is at 10.5*. I like it that way since it makes it easy to achieve the higher launch that I need. I also have found I can still hit it quite low when the wind gets to be very excessive.

10.5º today, it's crazy how the mentality has changed.  When I started to play seriously 2.5 years ago I was using a Callaway FT Tour 9º.

    • Best drive I've ever hit: I will not be answering any questions about the rest of the hole. Or the round, for that matter.
    • I tried hybrids way back when TaylorMade introduced the copper orange Firesole Rescue, the clubhead having been made of titanium which was still relatively new even in drivers back then. I couldn't hit it well at all, and while the success of hybrids suggests that the modern ones must be quite good,  I'm perfectly happy with the 5, 7, and 9-woods.  Early ones of mine were Top Flite Intimidator 400s made by Spalding... and also made of titanium, now that I think of it.  I still have them in my basement. I do bag a driving iron, but it's a one-trick-pony that never sees fairway use.
    • The last time I played Maxfli balls, Dunlop was still making them. How long ago was that? Mostly, though, I used to play Top Flites (original 336 dimple model) when Spalding was still making them. Now I play the Pro V1x. Last time that I ordered some, Titleist was still making them. Let's see how long that lasts.
    • Once, on a course in Middleton, Massachusetts that I used to love but has since closed down,  I hit the wrong half of a huge, UK style double green.  Then I made the hundred foot putt.  Tough to  forget that one.
    • No. But if I can still play next year, I'll almost certainly be even worse. That's the reality of not being young.🙁
