Did (2) 5 minute sessions of mirror work. Working on getting the legs/hip to lead the motion with varying "arm tuck".

20 Mins today, still in the nets. I have made it a goal to hit every ball with the same tempo this month. This involves about a minute of rehearsing the shot at a very slow speed, checking the position at A2  & A4, before stepping up and making a 40% speed full swing.

Spent 45 minutes at the range with a small bucket. The objective was to transfer my mirror work (hip turn) into my full swing practice. My contact was a bit erratic, with some slightly fat shots, but my misses were fairly tight.

Got into Canton early today. Decided to stop by the old stomping grounds to practice some pitching and distance wedges.

A little more brush stroke pitching motion helps out. I have a tendency to want to flying wedge the pitching. Basically trying to push the clubhead to glide under the ball.

Distances wedges are a tad better. I am trying to get more hip turn in this since it is a full swing motion. Shorter swing, more hips. I think I get to long for my described distance wedge distance and I try to slow down the swing into impact.

Wanted to play the par-3 course, but it was packed, so I hit the range instead. Small bucket, all game speed, and between yesterday and today, I think I used up all my good shots for the week. :-/ I hope I'm wrong about that, because I have a tournament tomorrow and then the TST So Cal outing on Sunday!

More key 2 stuff into the net with easy swings for about 20 minutes. Worked on my driver again for a few minutes as well. I think my strategy next time on the course will be more club, less swing. We'll see if I can stick to that.

More drilling into the net, success rate is going up but I feel I need to add a little variety.

Hit balls and worked on my pieces, spent more time on my downswing stuff. Then played 3 holes.

May 22 -

Went to practice range and did whatever for about an hour. I had an additional swing thought I picked up from watching a scramble partner on Monday. He is a single-digit HDCP player, and he had a sloooow-motion takeaway on all his shots.

I worked on chipping, pitches from fluffy lie, and partial wedges. I noticed I was rushing the takeaway and was quick at the top. But, slowing things down allowed me to keep my balance better, and improved distance control on chips. This also seems to help on my drives and my FWs.

For some reason, I wasn't rushing my takeaway on the irons - just long clubs and partials around the green.

I play tomorrow around noon. I'll be without my 4H and my normal GW, SW and LW - all getting reshafted. So, I will play with just 12 clubs - 4i and Calla XForged SW from circa 2008 the only stand-ins.

Focus, connect and follow through!

Did more indoor practice of chipping, putting, pitching, and iron shots.   Am becoming really comfortable with pitching 40 - 70 yards.  I am hitting green consistently from 70 yards in but need to get closer to the hole.   Focused on back of my left hand pointing to target at impact.  Hopefully, these daily practice will pay dividend in this weekend's rounds.

5 minutes trying to get a feel for distance with chips. That is, 5 minutes per chip. Going to practice throughout the day.
