Went out to the driving range to hit a bucket and then go home cus of lots of homework but was hitting the ball so well I decided to play a round. Played 18 and shot a 90 D: 42-48. Got an 8 on the back nine then 3 putted twice in a row so overall not a bad day but could of been a lot better, just need to keep working. Really worked on not slicing my drives and not going in to out.

Went out to the baseball fields by my house and set up some cones at 10 yard increments to work on my tweener wedge yardages. Took a quick picture of my setup

Just got my evolvr lesson, and I'm going to be doing some A1 to A5 very slowly for quite some time. I just finished about ten minutes of it (and then finishing the swing at whatever pace happens), focusing on doing A1 to A5 as one fluid piece (I had been stopping at A2 and at A4). I'm going to do this for a bit more after dinner. It feels nice to get everything into one motion.

Did 5 minutes right after the Rangers-Capitals game. Still mapping the backswing, with a little downswing added in. 3 backswings, then 1 downswing. Did two sets.

Well, I will keep posting as it's a good way to be accountable with practice, and will hopefully get me in the rhythm of practicing and posting so I can get a badge in June. Today I played nine holes focusing on the same thing: right elbow and wrist, and weight transition. I was going to work at the range, but I was practicing so much and playing so little that various lies have been giving me trouble when I do play. Tonight, I worked on the same things in front of the mirror for 20 minutes.

20 Mins outdoors practice, full swing, no ball. Using an 8 iron and a 3 wood. Slow swings, working on getting the hips to move forward through-out the downswing.

5 minutes head to wall shoulder turn. Its definitely getting better. Also working on getting arms in front...or not behind. Getting more in sync...

Hit balls into the net in the basement. Focused on alignment, shoulder turn (not overturning), timing/tempo

5 minutes mapping right elbow movement from 1 to 5, most specifically from 4 to 5. Noticed in a video yesterday that even when I might get the left wrist to stop cupping I'm still seeing the right elbow go out. Almost like the two hands are fighting each other and I'm trying to "wring the clubs neck" or something. Gonna try a feel at the range next time of my right elbow going towards the ball from 4 to 5 and see where that takes me.

Did mine yesterday, focus on my driver swing. Still coming a little bit over the top, but not much. It´s getting better, like my handicap. Glad ! :)

5 min in the office working on backswing again.  Centered hip turn and keeping the right elbow in front of the shirt seam.

Its easy to fit practice in like this, and I think its still my priority.  Probably gonna be a lot more posts like this one.

As is part of my morning routine, while waiting for the gf, did my 5 minutes in front of the mirror with a club shortening up the backswing and laying down the clubhead at A4.

May 5 -

Looked at my alignment and set-up on wood floor (wooden slats perpendicular to line of flight). On driver and FW, was about 1.5 " too far back in ball position. Possible contributor to left misses yesterday. (5 minutes)

Checked my backswing motion in mirror. Seem to be sliding back shoulders rather than rotating back. Need to watch balance. (5 minutes)

Focus, connect and follow through!

Did probably 10 minutes in the garage this morning practicing chips into a bucket and rolling some few putts focusing on posture and alignment. I somehow got my putting stance all cockamamie and it completely killed my accuracy/confidence.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
