First nobody chose slavery. Many women choose prostitution and make plenty of money to support themselves and even their children doing it. You have stereotyped prostitutes as the type wandering around the streets desperate. There are many women who would be very offended that you place them as "disgusting" for doing what they CHOSE to do. Get off your moral, arrogant soapbox and realize not everyone gets out of the shower to pee.

Right.  As opposed to joking about prostitution as a sport.  Maybe we can get a thread going about some good slavery jokes, too.

If people can make posts that disparage women in disgusting ways as a "joke" then it seems entirely appropriate to call them on it.

And I will until I am told by the mods that it is forbidden.

The real question is, why are YOU defending it?  Or at least trying to shield it from criticism?

To what end?  This was a molehill that you made into a mountain, IMO.  There are fights worth fighting, but is this really one of them?  You're getting all worked up at a guy for suggesting that you took a post too seriously - and I think he was right.  A post, mind you, that while certainly near the boundaries of taste, and more importantly, humor, consisted of five whole words.  One of which was "haha."  It's also worth noting that the original post (from a different guy, mind you) and your "thumbs down" post were both over two months old.

Just let it go.

Just let it go.

I made one post and it was pretty mild.  It isn't like I roused an internet mob to go after the guy.

The only mountain being made is being made by @Vinsk , who is also the one resurrecting the issue after 45 days. The rest of my involvement is resisting the censorship attempts by @Vinsk .  I suggest you direct the letting go to him.

As to the rest, we all get to choose what we care about.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

Sorry, that's funny :)

So I think gymnastics might be a good example? Anyone else?

Sure, I'll agree.  But if we're including the subjective sports, we could also include figure skating, no?

Here's another:  How about fast pitch softball?

Yes, free body balance type sport. Just don't ask them to do a quad jump - strength element. :-D

Figure skating. Agree. Fast pitch softball...no. Men don't care about that and if they did they'd smoke the girls.

The men figure skaters are superior.. They jump higher, do more difficult routines ect..

None. And definitely not fast pitch softball. Give those MLB guys a few weeks to get used to the pitches and they would crush any women's softball team. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the MLB guys crushed them after being up to bat even once or twice.

Is figure skating and gymnastics really a sport? It's like calling dancing a sport.

im surprised no one mention stock car racing.

Danica  Patrick is probable the most successful woman car racer who have beaten men...

Is car racing a sport.....maybe .....but at least there is a clear winner......figure skating and gymnastics are too subjective to be called a competitive sport.

I think when you talk about women it is in general terms and one example doesn't really prove much.. ie Danica Patrick.

I agree. It's kind of hard to compare because they are different sports, but I don't think it's a stretch to think that men would be superior in fast pitch softball if they competed in the sport instead of baseball. On the other hand, women aren't good enough at baseball to compete with men at high levels. Every once in a while you hear of a girl doing well in little league, but that's about it. [quote name="dchoye" url="/t/81969/in-which-sports-can-women-equal-men/90#post_1188409"]im surprised no one mention stock car racing. Danica is one person; it doesn't really prove anything about women being equal to men in car racing. I'd imagine if women could compete on the same level as men, there would be more women competing on the professional level.
