Tiger Woods Accused of Cheating With Amanda Dufner

Our group was having a funny conversation while  talking the other day during our 19th hole meet. Woody, and Mickleson are currently the faces of the PGA. Woody appears (allegedly) to be a ***** monger, and/or sex addict, and Phil's financial decisions (again allegedly) seem to be suspect. Both of their golf games are some what in decline. Yet both of these guys are still the ones who move the needle the most ... so to speak. Obviously the PGA, and those companies that endorse these two golfers are ignoring their off the course antics.

Then there is that Viagra commercial the senior tour, and golf channel seems to show repeatedly. Could it be the that the drivers of the golf industry are moving away from a game of honor, trust, and honesty, in preference for sexcapades, and suspect financial dealings? Could it be true that honor, trust, and honesty do not sell  the game of golf anymore?

Like I said it was a funny conversation after our round, and not to be taken seriously.

I agree. I am more inclined to think Amanda leaked this information for attention. Which is total conjecture on my part. Tiger's history has always been find someone who you can pay to keep quiet, a woman on call for each city.

Amanda may not but her friends may have, especially if the price is right. I think Enquirer were spot on some of Tiger's previous affairs so that's why I'm somewhat inclined to think there's a chance this may be true.

Interesting ... I do not think I have seen honesty, trust, and honor be a seller of the game.

With the National Enquirer suggesting a Tiger Woods-Amanda Boyd (Dufner) fling with nary a shred of evidence, the story likely would have remained where many other Enquirer stories have gone: into thin air. Sure, the publication got the big one right, but they've reported just as many incorrect Woods stories and like many of those over the last few years, this one would have faded quickly too.

Except that Tiger agent Mark Steinberg opened the topic up by suggesting something any golf fan of the last Presidents Cup knows to be false. Talking to Golfweek:

"I couldn’t deny this more vehemently," Steinberg said. "There is less than zero strand of truth to it. 100 percent false. 100 percent fabricated and zero credence. Absolutely, unequivocally untrue. They are not even acquaintances. It’s absolutely ridiculous."

Is unequivocally untrue a double negative?

Anyway, he left the acquaintance part out of his denial to Golf Channel.

“The report is categorically false. Absolutely zero truth to that ridiculous rumor.”

Considering there are photos of Amanda Boyd around Woods during Presidents Cup play, and knowing how the teammates and partners interact, to say they are "not even acquaintenances" does not add up.

Steinberg also has said in the past that he was not aware of his client's private life, so his views on who Tiger knows and does not know could be questioned. David Dusek wrote back in 2010 for golf.com:

Speaking on the eighth and ninth fairways as fans walked by, Steinberg said that he was in Southern California when the car accident took place outside Woods's home in Windermere, Fla. He denied knowing that his client was having multiple affairs, and spoke with disbelief about the number of women who have come forward to say they had relationships with Tiger.

I'm actually a Journalism major so I know how this stuff works. I know everything there is to know about libel and sources and all that fun stuff.

I'll just say this as far as the reporting goes......there's definitely a link somehow and some way. Anyone who says they printed this out of thin air is flat out kidding themselves. They would have not have printed this story if there wasn't "something" there to link the two. If there wasn't, they'd be sued to pieces and I don't think they'd risk that. It's not to say the fact they had an affair is true, but chances are they have evidence that there's at least a connection between the two. And given Tiger's past, you know where connections typically lead.

Like I've said before, I have a hard time believe Tiger would go behind Dufner's back and do this, so I don't know if I buy the story. But being a Journalism major, I will gaurantee you there's a 100% chance there's some link between Woods and Boyd, whether it's text messages, photos or the full throttle.

Expect interviews in the coming months now with her friends and lots of money flowing around it because if this story is true and the big Media agencies can prove it, this story will rock. Right now I think the fact I think it's a NE story is why a lot of people aren't fully on board with it.....but there'll be more digging, trust me. Remember what happened when the Elin story was first reported....the digging was just getting warmed up.

I strongly doubt there's any truth to this, but I'll can't be fully certain. On the other hand, Amanda Boyd sure ain't coming out to deny this one. I won't be surprised if she's loving the attention, she can spice things up by posting a beach picture today with a caption like "TBT: Vacation with a friend and the little ones...free diving is awesome!!"

P.S. For those who might not know, Tiger was reported to be in the Bahamas last week with his kids last week free diving.

Once again, I re-iterate the word "connection". I didn't say the story was true. But I gaurantee you they got some link. They print a lot of untrue stuff but they always have something there that can link the two together if questioned. I've been in Journalism for 15 years now so I know how this stuff works. If they didn't, then they'd re-name their magazine "The Onion" because that's what that is for.

I hope the reverse happens. I hope this gets him to swing freely and win a few tourneys. I don't know the relationship between him and Dufner or if he was on the outs with vonn when and if they are talking. I can't say I would pass on her on a moonlit night full of pina coladars either...

I think he is basing it on accusations of real people only. And the woman probably did say she was abducted by aliens...
