I think we can all agree that was the way this season should have ended. It was his season. Day had a hot run there for a couple months and really played well all year, but Spieth was #1 really for the last 10 months going back to the World Challenge and Australia which he dominated and just owned the majors. He deserved the Fed Ex Cup and no doubt earned POY. Will be very interesting to see how he does next year. Pressure is going to be cranked up a lot to try and follow up this great season. Plus you know Rory is going to come out hungry and Day, if he can stay healthy like he did this year, will be a force as well. And Tiger....uhhh...nevermind.

Can't say this means much to me. Spieth's season speaks for itself but purses are bigger than ever as we know.

Just give it to Spieth all ready!

Glad he finished the season out on top, now he truly earned the season long POTY

Spieth’s 2015 season has become the most lucrative season in PGA Tour history.

Doesn't really matter much. If Tiger had the Fed-Ex Cup during his prime year she would have made a killing.

Yep, Jordan gets it. Good for him. I was wondering if he would pull of a late in the season win after blitzing the tour from the Master's till the US Open.

Spieth earned it, despite all the naysayers he won when it counted most.  Kudos to Day as well, he had a great season and both have established themselves as the guys to beat next season.  I was a bit disappointed Rory faded today, as I hoped he'd have made a run too.

I heard this was the 1st time since 1973 two guys had 5+ wins, I think it was Nicklaus and Weiskopf that year. Thought for sure Tiger and Vijay had done it once or twice but guess not. Pretty amazing tour season. We could see 3 guys do it in the next few years with McIlroy in the mix too.

True, I know Tiger moves the needle and I'm a huge fan of Tiger but I have to say I'm pretty excited about golf right now.  You have the young guns, Day, Spieth, Rory, DJ, and Fowler dominating, and another group of young guys who have potential to reach elite status, Koepka, Thomas, Finau, Matsuyama, Reed, Lee and Berger.

I think golf is in a good place right now, it's young, fresh and I think kids will relate to these players better.

I couldn't agree more! I grew up with Arnie, Jack, and Lee, and this has been the single most exciting, entertaining year of professional golf I've ever seen.

I don't think the events that will happen in 2 weeks through the end of the year will feature much of the players that I mentioned.

WGC HSBC will be a decent field but after that it will be guys trying to run up some points and cash before the elite field starts playing.

Players play, tough players win!

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
