The only reason it went 6, and was close in all games, is Jones.

Congrats to the Sharks on a good season.

No thanks!!!!!!!!! :-) I like it the way it worked out. :-D They outplayed all four teams pretty decisively. No need for another game seven.

But now the hockey season is over for several months.

One more game would have been so thrilling ......

What a great series and run the Pen's had this year !!!

Hope next year the final showdown will be a Blue's versus Pen's ........ :-D

No doubt the Penguins had to run the gauntlet in these playoffs. The Rangers and then the Caps, just to have the chance to go up against the Sharks for the Cup! One hell of a run. And the Pens "D" was just smothering the Sharks last night!

And last year's EC Champs, the Lightning.

Kind of amazing to limit a desperate team to TWO shots on goal when they trail in the game and the series and are about to be eliminated.

Two shots!

Wow. Wasn't expecting the Habs to trade Eller. Fine by me, he never fully capitalized on the assets he had. Did ok considering the shlubs he generally had to play with, but that was kinda his fault anyway. You're not going to get the first line wingers till you prove that you can produce. Always thought he had the tools to be a 50-60 point a year guy. Just never panned out. Good luck to him moving forward. Seemed like a good kid.

Happy with the Shaw pickup, similar production to Eller but more jam.

Russian D they grabbed in the draft looks promising. Scouting reports say he's the most NHL ready player in the draft, even though he's only 18 (today is his b-day).  6'3" 206lbs and a bit of a mean streak. Teammates and fan nickname for him is Mutt. Habs could use some of that.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

Maybe not the right area but did you see the Redwings traded Pavel Datsyuk?   Both teams benefited, but a crazy concept.

Yeah I thought once someone retired their salary was off the books anyway? The contract was essentially ended. So what was that?

Datsyuk's contract is 35+, so it doesn't come off the books until it ends.

Actually I feel the Red Wings got away with that one. They dropped the contract, picked up an extra pick and a depth player and only had to move down 4 spots. Huge steal.

Oh, didn't think he'd signed it late. That makes sense.

I wonder if Arizona will be able to LTIR him or something.

They can't because he's not actually injured, plus they're just going to use it to help them make the cap floor anyway.

They don't have to pay Datsyuk a cent since they'll just suspend him when he doesn't report.

Yeah, I'll admit as a Pens fan I don't even consider "cap floor" type situations. Kind of sad, really.

Oh, that's how that works. They're still penalized on the salary cap, but don't end up having to pay the salary.

Okay.

Adam Larsson for Taylor Hall, P.K. Subban for Shea Weber, and Stamkos re-signed with the Lightning.

Interesting afternoon.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
