How often do you use a divot tool?

What is a reasonable price for a high end divot tool? Ex. Brass or Aluminum made

Does anyone else find it annoying when your group doesn't fix their divots?

What kind of divot tool do you have? Why do you have it!?

Yeah it is pretty sad when others don't fix their ball marks. I always try to repair a couple.

I don't use a divot tool, I just use a tee.

I usually do use a divot tool and sometimes will also use a tee though.  The very simple two pronged tools are the ones I like.  Bought a couple souvenir ones at courses I've been to ($5 or $6 I imagine) and my brothers CC gives them out for free.

I'm not really sure what a "high end" tool would cost if one even existed.

I have bought a few of the switch blade types along with the prongs exposed.  I have been using the switch blade types of late and they also have the course logo ball marker with them.  I put one in my cart and walking bag.  The only problem I have encountered with them is when they switch open by themselves and you have two sharp points trying to stab your leg or rip your pants.  The long pants that I have been wearing have a pocket inside of the pocket and I try to put it back with the button side out.  So far so good in that regard.  The cheaper one (Maxfli) does the same.  Just a little design flaw that could be easily fixed.

As of late, I have not used mine much for my own shots because I seem to be either on the fringe or just in the high grass and a little chip or pitch does not leave anything.  I do fix any that I see and some of them are so obvious when you are getting near the green.  People are just lazy but I'm sure they would be complaining if there putt for birdie took a different path because of a crater.  When I was playing today and having a hell of a time getting on the green (par 4, 20 yard chip for four :-( ) I noticed someones ball on the green.  It was from a nasty slice way up the hill on an adjacent hole.  I made a comment that I see you are hitting the greens better than me.  He took a drop just off the green and blasted a wood a long ways off and took off.  His ball mark would have swallowed up 3/4 of a ball.  I fixed it up after one putting.

I always try to fix my divot and while I'm at it I fix a few others, its just the right thing to do. I use a Pitchfix tool, its great and its relatively small in your pocket.

I use a fairly high-end brass divot tool with a Gator ball marker, but I have bunches of them.  I bought divot tools for my son-in-laws 2 years ago for Christmas.  I think they were around $15 each.  One was a Steeler divot tool and the other a Gator divot tool.  Both have ball markers.

I always fix my divot and as many as I see, especially if no one is behind me.  I'll fix 20 ball marks per green sometimes.

I do the same for divots in the fairway.  I always fill the sand buckets before I tee off and sometimes fill them multiple times per round.  I will fill the worst divots I see, probably 5-10 per hole.  It is the course I play and I don't want to find myself in someone's unfilled divot.  When I walk, I bring a couple of sand bottles.  Typically have to refill them each hole.

This smells like spam or fishing or whatever. @TigonWoods is probably going to begin selling a pitch mark repair tool.

I use one all the time. I fix mine and at least 3-5 others when I find them on the green.

A tee works just fine. In fact, I often just use my putter to fix my ball marks and others that I find. I've gotten pretty good at it through the years.

Tees are not fine.

I like this one, or a tool with shallow prongs

Do you know how to use one?

I clean up mine and a few more as time permits.

It's annoying when people don't clean up their divots.

I buy the cheap ones, they are like $2 each.  I had a nice one and lost it.  I feel better about it if a $2 repair tool falls out of my pocket as opposed to a $15 repair tool.  There have been times when I did not have one at hand and did use a tee but I really try not to do that.  Like others, I will repair other marks on the green as well, doesn't bother me at all and I want the greens to be nice.  Yesterday there were a lot of discourteous golfers on course that did not fix their marks, so I fixed a lot of them.

Always.  A small, sharp, 2-pronged tool that I've had for 30 odd years.

I probably average 4-5 repairs per green.  I wish everyone would do the same. I also wish that everyone knew how to properly repair a ball mark.

I take great pride in actually have a pitch mark to repair. While I'm at it I'll fix any that I see as long as I have the time. Shoot, I'll fix them even if I don't leave one of my own. I've never bought any expensive ones myself, I think the one I have now cost $5?

Side note, I was guilty of improperly repairing marks but now I do it correctly.

I use a divot repair tool almost always; I only use a tee when I don't have a repair tool on me. I've got quite a few, of varying cost; I like the switchblade version the best.

My general rule is to fix my divot and one more, though I often do two or three.

It's kind of a running joke between my dad and I to mock-complain about the course not being in shape but refuse to fix divots. Some our members are notorious for this.

thanks to @Mr. Desmond for posting that video.  aggravates me to no end seeing people butcher a pitch mark. i try to tactfully show them the correct way.
