Oh, you can use your old tags?

I'm guessing the "tags" are just an identifier which are assigned to specific clubs during the setup process. If by chance a person would lose a tag, they would be able to use any of the extra tags as a replacement simply by assigning that tag to that club. I've just purchased both the Classic and Live for my wife and I and will use either when we golf together. Another thought I'm going to try for practice, hit one club tag with live, then tag the classic. This show as two rounds after I upload and view both for comparison of distance between the two different units. They should show exact distances. Also, just to play around with measuring shots, I will use a 7 and 6 on approach and note the distance of each club.
I'm also guessing, anyone should be able with both classic and the live, they could also tag multiple shots and edit them.

It's a cool system, beats marking locations and distances the old fashion method of paper & pencils.

Oh, you can use your old tags?  I was curious about that myself.  Thanks for mentioning it.

They're the same tags. Nothing changed in that sense. The "Live" model just adds a Bluetooth connection.

I hear that some people use clubs when they're home and different clubs they use when they go on vacation so it's pretty cool for those folks who use two sets of clubs.

Get GAME GOLF LIVE Data On Your Watch

From @GAME Golf

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- It's time to face the facts: Knowing more about your golf game can shave strokes off your score. Soon, with a quick glance at your watch, you'll see essential shot-tracking and distance data that can help you hit smarter shots.

Coming soon to Apple, Pebble and Android watches will be GAME GOLF, the industry's leading shot-tracking system for both iOS and Android. GAME GOLF gives amateur golfers all the information professional golfers use to perfect their games. Golfers will be able to see the platform on Apple watches at the 63rd PGA Merchandise Show, January 26-29, 2016, in Orlando.

"Eighteen months ago, we pioneered the first golf shot-tracking product that merged elegant design with state-of-the-art technology," said John McGuire, CEO of GAME GOLF. "Now that GAME GOLF will be on the world's most popular smart-fitness watches, we will be the only company to offer golfers a full suite of mobile platforms on which they can capture their stats, analyze and adjust their games, share their successes and have more fun on the course."

The watches work in sync with the new GAME GOLF LIVE wearable device with Bluetooth technology. As a golfer plays a round, an integrated software platform automatically tracks, and instantly captures, all performance data, in real-time. Golfers see a full display of their information on their iOS or Android phones; or, they can now glance at their watches to get a real-time snapshot of their data while playing. Watches also can be used in tandem with the GAME GOLF App.

With the watches, golfers get a powerful suite of features including: A rangefinder, enabling them to merely turn their wrists to the course to get accurate distances, the ability to see their shots, manually add penalty shots, change holes (go back to look at previous holes or look ahead), and end their round.

"GAME GOLF on your watch literally transforms your golf experience," said PGA Professional Graeme McDowell. "It is quite surprising how interesting the game becomes and how easy it is to just glance at your wrist for a quick view of your game and what's ahead. I don't usually like distractions while I'm playing. But, the simplicity of the design, and the way the watch gives you essential information, makes GAME GOLF on your watch as important to a good game as your clubs and balls."

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CAPTURED BY GAME GOLF LIVE WHILE YOU PLAY

When you have time to check your phone, or you're back at your computer, the new GAME GOLF LIVE platform offers perspectives on a golfer's game that are unavailable on competing systems. New Strokes Gained Overview displays robust metrics off the tee, on approach shots, during the short game and for putting. Strokes Gained metrics are considered the most accurate way to compare a golfer's play against the data of a scratch golfer. GAME GOLF LIVE features a new twist by providing a detailed SMART TIPS section to interpret Strokes Gained data and pinpoint improvement opportunities while making recommendations on the areas where golfers should focus their practice time. When viewed on the web, GAME GOLF LIVE Strokes Gained compares a player's most recent rounds to a scratch player's rounds to see how many strokes are lost driving, in fairway play, chipping or putting.

GAME GOLF LIVE's mapping systems have been upgraded to include Google Maps, Apple Maps and BING Maps. The system now includes the most powerful course rangefinder. Editing data for accuracy and adding penalties are easy. All playing history and statistics are automatically backed up online. Through their Android or iOS phones players are able to share their rounds via email, Facebook and Twitter. The PGA of America and Golf Channel are partners in the brand.

The watch apps will be free in the Apple and Android stores. The Apple Watch app, which debuts in January, will require your iPhone to run iOS9 and the Watch to be on the WatchOS2 platforms. The Pebble and Android watch apps will be available in the first quarter.

GAME GOLF LIVE retails for $299 US MSRP and does not require any additional service fees. GAME GOLF is currently sold in Apple Stores (Europe), Canada, United Kingdom and Ireland; golf specialty shops; on #AmazonLaunchpad; and in more than 800 green grass pro shops worldwide. Yeah, I used glue like I think @Golfingdad suggested in addition to screwing them in.  I found out that with the glue it keeps them in place very well and it's not difficult to screw out as I found out a few months ago when I changed my hybrid.

Any recommendations on the type of glue to use?

@GAME Golf  Here's an idea for the engineers to hash over with GG Challenges.

Match Play? With several players using GG during a round, the ability to overlay every players game on each users device.
Also, the ability to show a Match Challenge when/if players would be in different groups for both single and four ball matches.

Many golfers have multiple side games bets, especially in Mens events every weekend.

Game Golf is great for stats, I'm hoping the next level build the Dashboard will include Match Challenges. Given they already have the "Net Score" incorporated as a stat.

That's not quite how Challenges work.

That's not to say they couldn't in the future, but right now, for example, you set a challenge to be like "Highest GIR %" and determine how long the contest runs. Players play as much or as little as they'd like, and the results are tallied and a winner declared.

I've heard people use silicone with success. More reversible than glue, I imagine.

Silicone is a good adhesive used for years by building trades as well as waterproofing applications.

I found you didn't need to cut it.  It keeps them in place but it's not crazy hard to screw out.

Like being able to check round on course.  We have a couple of holes where the tee boxes are very close and the GPS sometimes gets the drives posted to the wrong hole.  Like also being able to add penalty shot while on course.  Also like having the round upload from phone ready to review when I get to my computer, though last round got lost, talked to support and they could not see what happen.

Anyone else have an issue uploading from phone.  I think somehow the device corrupted the file and upload failed.  As when I tried to upload from device to computer it also failed with bad data error.

I had that issue over the summer for a brief spell, and had to recreate the rounds from screenshots, but once they updated the app, it resolved the issue

After another round with GG Live I like it even more.  I noticed that when you use the screen lock type feature it shows how many strokes you've taken.  So if you're like me and have those moments of pause when you think, "wait, did I tag that shot", the answer is right there for you.  I also really like that you can check it as you go, tag penalties, and make sure the total strokes are right.  No more scorecards for me.

One thing I noticed in both my rounds was that it gets confused by shots on the wrong fairway.  One time, on my phone, it recorded the shot as having been played on the prior hole, but then it was corrected when uploaded.  This past weekend, I was playing hole 5 and hit an errant shot onto, say, the fairway on 6.  For hole 5 it had my tee shot going to where my third shot started, as if there was no tag for the errant shot.  Fine.  But then when I reviewed the course online, it said I played hole 5 twice and that the second time, it showed the errant shot only.  So it looked like I teed off from the fairway on 6 and holed out.  Some random dude even complimented my on my feed for getting the hole in one (later deleted when corrected).  Its not a big deal, and easy enough to correct.  But I don't remember having this problem with any of the 9 rounds I played with GG Classic.

    • For such a nice membership, there have been some bad incidents in the past few years.  We had someone voted out a couple of years ago over something he did and he harassed the board members for three months until he moved out of the area.   Generally they’ve tried to do things like tournament handicaps and identify certain people who they know should be lower and adjust it somehow.  I can understand not wanting to go thru something like the guy who was voted out again i emailed the pro who forwarded it to the handicap committee.  They are going to see what can be done.  I walked someone thru what happened and they are going to nudge him to post the score from the match and see what he does.  Since he didn’t put anything in the electronic scoring past 13, based on how he played 14 and 15 plus having to take bogey on 16-18 for after he left, he should post 83.  We’ll see if it’s even higher,   Since he was really even thru 13, then doubled 14 and parred 15 my guess is he really shot 75 being generous and giving him 2 pars and a bogey on the three holes he didn’t play.    i shot 88, getting 16 shots for my course handicap which is net even and I lost on 13.  We do brackets where handicaps should be within 4-5 of each other.  Most matches only have 1-2 shots as a difference between players  neither of us posted the score yet.  There was something in the match play rules about whether or not to post your score.  I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to or not.  I don’t think he was going to post that, because even with his inflated score it would be the lowest score in his recent 20. Lucky I didn’t because they want to see what he does post and they don’t want me posting so he can try to calibrate his score.
