Wow, must have been like 5 grass tosses in there. Then 5 practice swings. Jeez.

Jesus, that's aggravating to watch.  I remember he played well one tournament a couple of years ago and his deliberations took center stage.

he should be put on the clock on the first tee.

if i were put in his group i would be calling for the rules guy to come over the first time he took more than 30 seconds to hit a shot.

I wouldn't mind some carry over from the previous tournament. If you were giving a penalty for slow play two tournaments in a row then you are automatically on the clock for the next tournament.

My thoughts exactly. It is painful to watch.

I would have serious issues with that if I was playing either with or behind him.  Just walk up and hit the ball.  Not that hard

edit: of course thats probably why he is a pro and I am not.

For the most part, almost nobody is ever penalized for slow play.  I remember an amateur at the Masters getting a penalty a few years back, but I'd bet that there have been no penalty strokes applied in regular PGA events.  Until the PGA actually does penalize people, nothing will change.

+1.  Wow, I know I probably take more time than most taking two practice swings before a shot but wow, that's just painful.

Ermagerd, just watching him makes me nervous!  I haven't paid attention to him before.  It looks like he was unsure about the shot, or is that his normal routine?

Not sure if it's exactly like that every shot ... but that certainly wasn't a one time thing.  He is VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY "deliberate" as they like to say.

Aggravating to watch his nervous movements and inability to click into his swing zone but as far as professional golf goes I am not sure this time taken is even in the top two or three reasons for slow play. He just took inside of a minute probly after waiting 10 mins for the green to clear out in the first place. On TV at least they seem to take far more time deciding club/shot shape. Green reading time even worse.

On the flip side, I am sure he could do well if he found a way to locate his trigger faster. I read somewhere Kevin Na worked specifically to improve his time to trigger.

Yeah I wouldn't be able to watch, just too much nervous energy.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Keegan Bradley seems to have almost as much nervous energy in his preshot routine.

If I was his playing partner I would just continue on with out him. There is no penalty for playing out of turn. I would not want him to cause me to get a penalty stroke.

I know this happened to another golfer. He decided to just go ahead because they were already given a warning.

Ugh, 50+ seconds for the top 5 slowest players.

Enjoyed that article. Now I want them track some amateurs for comparison. We obviously have to get our own yardages which slows things down, but  there are plenty of folks out there who need to see what they are doing.

Hit all four par threes in one (a first) - parred each; still had a couple 3 putt bogies; and blew up on 3 of the par 5’s (go figure)). The blow ups were some serious tree rattlers - amplifying how I got stupid and greedy instead of smart and content to just get back in the short stuff.
