50 yd half SW. Only partial wedge distance that is almost always dead on and also only shot I hit that I rarely screw up. Smashing drives is fun but I get way more aroused off sticking wedges close to the hole.

Any shot exactly 115 yards from the hole. I dont know how i do it but even on my worst days ill hit that shot inside of 15 feet 8 outta 10 times. Too bad it only hapens two or three times a round.

As a hack...I like any kind of funny shot that doesn't go as planned, but ends up okay anyway.

Thinning an iron, and seeing the ball fight and roll its way to the green is priceless.

Pured, straight driver shot that splits the fairway. Nothing like it in my book.

The ones I think about as I lay my head on the pillow that night.  It's almost never the 300 yard drive down the middle or the 30-yard pitch hole-out or the 30-foot putt.

Almost invariably it's an approach shot.  Could be a 190-yard 4-iron to 6 feet or a 150-yard 8i.  Most recent round it was an 80-yard SW from a fairway bunker that landed 8 feet behind the hole and sucked back to 4 feet.  These are the shots I play over and over in my head as I drift off to sleep.

I'm with @saevel25, I think my favorite is the pured 6i-8i that is executed exactly as planned.  I love me a big bombed drive that goes where I was aiming, but that pured mid iron that goes right where I want, how I want, is still more fun.  I think it's because the sweet drive is great to have in the bag because it sets up better shots at birdie and par, but really it's the approach where you make your money.  I'm a good enough putter that I'm not 3-putting too much, so if I have a look at GIR and hit it, I'm gonna get par (or birdie) the large majority of the time.  But lord knows I've played a ton of holes where I bombed a drive that split the fairway, then totally failed on the approach and ended up with bogey or worse.

My favorite has got to be a knockdown shot with a mid or long iron. The best shot I have in my bag playing in a state famous for windy conditions. My absolute favorite is a knockdown four iron from 170 that shot has saved me more times than I can count

After @golfncowboy mentioned the wind, I'm reminded of one of my favorite things to pull off.  Sometimes, when hitting into a strong wind from a good long distance, I'll hit my driver off of the fairway.  Hitting it solid and straight, and about 10 feet off the ground with a ton of roll, that's one of my favorite shots to pull off.

I think for me it is an approach shot that comes off the club face as I imagine it and leaves me a good shot to make a birdie.

Mid to long iron to the middle of the green. That's the high that keeps me coming back.

A close 2nd is a putt that involves a bank over the fringe (or even further off the green) then back and downhill to the hole. It's such a good feeling to correctly judge the read and speed on those.

Damn it... this thread is not helping my Winter depression.

    • The MTB Prime and Prime X had issues with the cover being too soft and getting cut too easily. They said it was more prevalent in the Prime than the Prime X which I found odd because that was the exact opposite of my experience.
    • Day 120 - Played 18; much better than yesterday. Miss right now is off the heel of the club, so I need to sort that out.
    • Today we played Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, NH. Course was in great shape but my game didn't show up. I will say I pitched and chipped fairly well but almost everything else was very hit or miss. Cost myself a lot hitting an in play drive with pulling my approach shots maybe 85% of the time. Finally figured out I had been swaying most of the round. Only took me until 13 to figure it out. Used what felt like a much more centered turn and the ballstriking improved. 18 tomorrow using a 2 man scramble format. Just looking to contribute. Been a blast though.
    • Day 22: Hit balls with 7-iron using mevo+ to track dispersion. Was out for a long time after work; 86 balls but the first 50+ were 50% swings focusing on top of backswing feel and then just hitting the ball as a psychic reward. Finished with 20 balls close to full speed. Pretty happy with dispersion and also no horrendous misses. I’m chunking my priority piece out into two separate feels, first and more important is the position/balance at top of backswing which is what I was working on. Once I have that engrained I’ll move to transition part.
    • FWIW I never really had issues with the previous generation of Snells. But… I'm not sure I played them a ton, either.
