I saw the TNT special when they announced the cover models. They brought out her, RR and some pro model. The plus size girl wasn't much bigger than RR who is a whopping what 130ish. Plus size is when you have to shop at the women's big and tall store.

Umm, plus size model is anyone bigger than size 00 (00 tailored tall of course).  So, anyone who's not clinically underweight.

But yeah, that model is more plus sized than I would have expected, but it's not like she's hard to look at.  Nothing wrong with some curves...

She's attractive but overweight...   That is the problem with the whole plus size positive body image movement, being overweight comes with a lot of potential health problems.

Sure but if twig thin is the model standard and she is plus sized compared to that it's not a real life version. I'd like to see what the plus sized girl looks like next to a 6' 190 man. Probably not real big.

http://bodyceleb.com/ashley-graham-height-weight-wiki/  5'-9" and 165 pounds according to that link.

According to WHO, her BMI is 24.3, and she is "normal weight."

And, I think the point of all of this is that being underweight, or striving for that "perfect" size that is usually depicted in magazines, can lead to very serious health problems (like eating disorders) as well.

Exactly.  She is far from overweight.

Its just as bad to be too skinny as it is to be too fat.

I'm pretty sure that's not an accurate account of her height and weight because that's about the same height and weight that I am. I'm 5'10" and right around 160ish.... I'm not saying she looks horrible by any means, she's a pretty woman. She's just bigger than I am attracted to, and I'm not necessarily attracted to stick figure women.

^  this is the insightful comment, IMHO

Regardless of what they put on the cover, it won't be long before there is complaints that she's too pretty in the face, or that long hair also objectifies women, or any curves at all is bad.

Sport Illustrated Pantsuit Edition cover girl - Janet Reno

just wait, it'll happen

I'm grossed out by Paula Deen - not because she's old or fat, but because she leaves her rings on while cooking.  That's seriously nasty.  Stuff gets into those things and lives there until it walls out in the dough she's kneading or the plate she's dressing....

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit!  :-(

I've seen at 201, 182, and 170 by different sources so her weight seems to fluctuates a lot. I saw 166 in an article posted today but who really knows.

That is almost exactly my size and weight and I think she looks substantially heavier than me if she is 5'9".

Very pretty but . . . no. Not my cup of tea.

Keep in mind that men tend to have more muscle tissue than women, and muscle tissue is denser and heavier by volume than adipose tissue.

I'd have agreed with the naysayers once upon a time, but I've since found out that love doesn't have eyes.  Most single men have an ideal woman in mind, but few ever end up with what they thought they would.

I find it hard to believe she is 5'9 165lbs when comparing her to my wife who is 5'8" 140 lbs (which is a good weight for her imo).  If I had to guess from the OP picture, 190 lbs.

Sign that you're too obsessed with your golf swing:  When you look at a picture containing a woman, bright pink golf ball, beautifully manicured golf course, amazing background scenery and you're first thought is "huh, I am really envious of that right elbow position!"

    • No rain while I was out (9am to 11:30am). Fairly pleasant for a late November day in the Mitten.
    • Day 56 - 2024-11-25 Did the BAD Challenge and hit a bunch more other little shots. This was one of the closer shots.
    • 70 today. The number looks good but, the course is a par 67 (5,110 yards, 64.3/115.). While the 70 took quite a few good shots to achieve, I am not counting that as shooting my age.
    • Played our town’s executive course this morning. Everything is closing but for now Huron Hills remains open. #13 is shaped like an upside down backwards L (dogleg left). Only 231 yard par 4. Dogleg has a tree guarding the corner and a sand bunker guards the green for those cutting the dogleg. Tiny green. About 10 years ago or more I would try to cut the dogleg. The hole is so short that even if one tangled with the tree or was bunkered, par was likely and birdie was still on the table. Now in my 70’s, I just hit it straight and try to wedge it close for birdie. Today I screwed up and pulled my drive. I wandered around a bit when my ball was not in the bunker. Finally located it on the approach to the green. Almost chipped in and tapped in the 2 inches for birdie. Best unintentional shot of the week. 😲
