but it will likely be a landslide victory for Trump versus Clinton when they uncover yet another scandal on her and it sticks.

All the polls say it will be Clinton's win against Trump.  GOP establishment is also convinced and trying hard to get Trump out of the way.

Clintons have a way of getting out of trouble.   She will beat Trump.  Against other GOP candidates, she won't do well.

They called Reagan the "Teflon President", but I think that the Clintons have gone beyond Teflon.  They should patent that frictionless substance that they seem to be bathed in.

I'm kind of thinking that something will come out at the last minute. Hopefully, the GOP has learned how to time things better than Whitewater again. :-P

Swing votes can easily vote for Trump. Very few will vote for a wannabe Cheney republican like Cruz.

I picked Clinton in the poll above. I woke up yesterday morning and felt the Bern. I think a lot of people in Washington did. I was supposed to be too old to feel the Bern. I'm 63. Given the ages my parents and grandparents lived to, with modern medicine and future advancements, I could conceivably make it to 2060. Bernie is the only candidate who has addressed keeping Social Security solvent past the time when I'll die without cutting benefits or raising the retirement age.

Plus this e-mail thing, even though it is an admitted fact by Congressman Gowdy that it is politically motivated to deny Clinton the White House, is going to dog her throughout the election. They are not going to let this die even though Condoleeza Rice and Colin Powell did the same thing.

I think it is backfiring. People are tired of hearing it, don't see the problem and realize it is a witch hunt. People who want it to be true have already made up their mind. The funny thing is, some of the "classified" information can be items like hotel bills, itineraries, etc. Gowdy leaves that part out.

I have to respect Bernie for standing up to what he believes.

I watched a video of him making an appeal in 1991 then another appeal in 2001 against the Iraq war giving the very reasons why in hindsight we now see were really bad reasons to go to war. The room was completely empty in the 1991 appeal, but he made his statements clear and with conviction why it was a stupid reason to go. Which we all now know was stupid, both times and for the very reasons he noted. Clinton spoke out for the war in Iraq noting that it is with deep conviction and undeniable proof  that we should go to war. Politician.

The people who speak out against him and spout support for Clinton for various reasons including claiming that he was not in the march for civil rights are ridiculous. Out of a million plus people who were there, this one idiot said "I didn't see him." :-P

Even though I will likely vote for Trump, I have a lot of respect for people who would vote for Bernie Sanders.

I agree, I like Bernie as a person. I feel bad that he won't be able to beat the establishment. He and Trump are the anti-establishment candidates, but only Trump has the power to actually win.

I had a discussion with some Bernie supporters this weekend and I get the sense that they'd look into voting Trump if Clinton steals the nomination from Bernie. There is a real sense that the establishment must be destroyed by any means possible, even if that means voting for a candidate you don't really care for.

If somehow the GE came down to Bernie v. Cruz I'd vote for Bernie simply to disrupt the establishment, knowing full well he'd never get any of his socialist ideas past congress anyway.

I read some of Trumps foreign policy, on the surface it seems appealing to pull troops or charge for protection but it also shows ignorance about our foreign policy history.  There are reasons our military protects Saudi Arabia, Japan and South Korea at a minimal cost to those countries.

This is one of those areas where you can't run a country like a business, not everything can make financial sense.

Countries like Saudi Arabia and Japan don't need our military help. If they do, they can both afford it on an as need basis. We don't really need permanent bases in either country.

China is no longer a military threat to the United States, since they own 6% of our debt and a growing portion our real estate. Plus, more of them are living the American lifestyle, who wants to destroy what they are aspiring to be like? :-D

South Korea is our problem. We fought the war to fight off the "oppressive communists" not to protect Koreans. Let's say we did something totally stupid like pull out of South Korea. North Korea would take over but they would likely not destroy their economies. They would likely be stopped by China from doing anything stupid bad. The last thing China wants is a war on their coastline that close to their capitol. Many North Koreans will just continue on as they did before and South Koreans would learn to work the new political system with their wealth. They will reunify anyway, and keeping a US military presence there only delays that process. There is no such thing as a North Korean culture and South Korean culture. They are all Koreans.

The main reason for us policing the world is our desire to control oil prices, if we simply let it float the price will go up double then settle somewhere around 20% higher than we are paying now. Possibly less because of market fluctuations. Countries would have trade wars against each other, but the value will eventually settle naturally because people are inherently capitalists.

It's really not as complicated as people think, and the USA is not the most powerful nation in the world and soon we will not be the largest economy any more.

We're just a player in the world like everyone else, but we need to get out of this big depression we're in. Trump can help us do it.

This sums up my feelings about the presidential race of 2016:

Yeah, not even close to "looking into".  It's more of a never type of thing.  Idk who you are talking to that are Bernie supporters, but they are in the very low percentile of people that would switch over purely because of anti-establishment.

I'm not totally sure I understand your statement. But I think there probably ARE a lot of people who prefer Bernie, but will end up voting for Trump in the general election. Trump is pretty liberal on a lot of social issues. He's a very skilled communicator and I think there are quite a few Hillary haters who will feel he is the lesser of two evils. I think the anti-establishment theme is definitely at work here and I think that is the appeal of both Bernie and Trump. At least in part....Trump is a much better campaigner than Bernie.

Wouldn't call it anti-establishment so much as sick of the career politicians who are destroying our country for no reason other than that they are egotistical and selfish.

Exactly this. The reason the GOP is losing their minds over Trump is because he is actually very liberal on a lot of issues, especially the social issues. This drives them nuts. Why do you think all of the evangelical states are voting Cruz even though everyone in their right mind finds him to be the creepiest dude in the race?
