Played this afternoon again with the Vice.  40-40-80 but putting woes killed me.  Love the. Way the ball flies off the club.  Hit some long drives that were longer than normal.  Will play again tomorrow in the Club Championship, we'll see how to goes.

I ordered the sample pack to try the different balls that VICE offers. I usually play the ProV1x as I was looking for a little less spin off the tee and around the greens. I hit the VICE Pro and Pro Plus and didn't really notice much of a difference between the two balls. If you are looking for a more cost effective approach to golf balls I like the NXT Tour. I switched back to the ProV1x, I still cringe every time I hit one in the water but I feel like I got better performance out of it.

I've now played three rounds with the Vice Pro+ and still like it.  I think it goes a hair farther than either the Snell MTB or the Pro V1x, at least for me.

I think the cover feels a little softer, so the ball checks a little more on the greens and you can be a little more aggressive with putts as it doesn't seem to roll out as much as the others.

So I like the ball, but really not sure it's any better than the other two balls above that I typically play.

Biggest problem is that they are shipped from Germany and it takes forever to arrive.

Maybe some history on Vice :)

It's a German golf start-up, I think they started around 5 ago, but first they had a different name (Flake). Their business idea is to produce high quality golf balls (which can compete with the big names), but they are not sold in golf stores or pro shops, their only distribution is their website. This allows them to cut the cost for the intermediate dealer and thus the top vice balls are (at least here in Germany) at half the price of a ProV1(x). They do make a little bit of advertisement here and they also sponsor the German golf league.

As for myself, I have to admit that I have never really tried them. I'm not a big fan of trying out everything once I found something I like (and I do like the ProV1x and the TPx).

I was like you as early as last year.  I would only play the Pro V1x's.  Then I realized, when I'm playing golf almost every day, I was going through about a dozen a month and sometimes more. You add that up and I was spending over $600 a year on just golf balls.  So thanks to TST, I got to try the Snell MyTour and I found out it was pretty much as good as the Pro V1x for roughly half the price.  And then I decided to try the Vice, and it too works just as good for me as the Pro V1x and again is half the price.

I wouldn't say one ball is better than the others, they are all great balls.  If I have credit to spend I'll buy Pro V1x's but if it's cash out of pocket, both of these balls will do the trick for a far cheaper cost.  The only drawback to the Vice ball is that it takes 5-7 days to arrive as it comes from Germany directly.

How long is forever? I ordered 5 dozen custom balls with an image and text and had them in a week. Ordered June 28 had them July 6.

Same as you, took about 8 days.  That's forever, when you normally get them in 2 days from Snell.  I'm usually running out when I order, so 8 days is a quite a while, at least for me.

Ah ok, I didn't think it was too bad plus over a holiday weekend, I was quite impressed. Especially since they are coming from Germany.

On a side note I also ordered a glove from them and have only tried it on, but holy hell does it feel amazing. Taking it out for a spin tonight. Hopefully it's more durable than the Titleist ones.

After reading this thread I took a look as I was running low on my balls (mostly prefer Titleist NXTs) so I placed an order last Thursday for their Tour line of balls and received them yesterday.

Was really impressed with the time for delivery, and the quality of the ball in general. Felt better and I think I got more spin off of the club than with the NXTs I've been playing.  I can't see myself going back to a name brand ball with these guys out there still producing quality equipment.

I just ordered a dozen of the Vice Pro Lime Green. I've been playing the Nike RZN White for a couple years now (I get the AAAAA used versions from Lost Golf Balls), so I wanted to try something new at a higher price point to see if I can tell the difference. I've recently been intrigued by Vice, and I like the green, so I went for it.

I'll post any impressions here when they arrive (ordered last night, scheduled for Monday FedEx delivery).

Just wanted to update a little on this, as Vice's website used to not show compression ratings and some of the balls seemed identical other than the decals. I was kinda sad when I found out the flamingo balls are not the same as the Pro, really wanted those. From a response I got on their facebook page, compressions are:

Drive - 90

Tour - 90

Pro - 95

Pro Plus - 85

Flamingo - 80

Neon - ? They didnt list, maybe same as Flamingo?

I bought 5 dozen neon and 5 dozen white. I do think the neon balls are a bit shorter than the pro balls. Maybe 3-4 yards. Ill still play them as 3-4 yards isnt a huge deal. Ill just club up to make sure I hit the green. Really like the overall performance of these golf balls.

I contacted Vice and they responded with:

The Pro Neon and Flamingo are variants of the Pro balls. They're basically the same ball because they have the same composition composition and characteristics though you're right on the compression. See compression rates below.

I've been using the Pro Neon lately. I really like them. I'm honestly not a skilled enough player to properly evaluate their performance, but I like how they feel in the short game and putting, and my distances seem the same as with the Nike.

The color is a neat bonus - definitely easy to spot, and different from yellow.

I'm going to also try out the Titleist NXT (I won a free box of them) and Project A (received three sleeves through the promo they had)...but, unless I really like one of those, the Pro Neon will be my go-to for a while.

Interesting.   Every once in a while when you hit a shot off the driver very cleanly I feel like the white version has a little extra zing and might be a few yards ahead of my normal spot.   However I have driven the same par 4 with the Flamingo ball (it's fun to come right up behind someone with an obviously nailed shot and it's pink) and those are pretty fair cracks but I've never hit with the pink a shot like I describe with the white ball.  I ordered 5 dozen each.

The feedback so far is that the Pro is the longest, despite it having the highest compression value. Seems like Titleist's marketing isn't just fluff to convince people to buy more Pro V1s?

A firmer ball will almost always have a higher ball speed.

    • Good and sad tales, kind of understand that. So I left Oahu that had high concerns of controlling it to an Island that had yet to get 1 case.  All was well until Wednesday 4 popped positive, Thursday 38 and today Friday 60 something. I was tested and none in my circle including an 85 year old woman has had any issues.  So the governor/mayor answer is a lockdown. How do you lockdown an island where the population is but a postage stamp on the entire island? No worries, I plan on golfing next week. I got to log a few more birdies on the 2020 birdie challenge. Aloha, iSank
    • What's the minimum camera quality will you guys consider watching? The rear camera for my phone is 2MP and the front camera is 0.3 MP. I only have one camera and a tripod, so I can't record the side and behind at the same time. Is that OK?
    • Day 50 - Hitting more balls indoors, just trying to get used to swinging indoors.
    • We used lugloc and used it Hawaii to Scotland, Hawaii to Sydney, to Auckland and Hawaii to Pinehurst to Alabama to Hawaii, and a few west coast trips. I think when we landed in Edinburgh it took a 1/2 hr to confirm but was able to confirm at JFK, and heathrow. I have lost clubs before on a mainland trip and love seeing that the clubs and luggage are with me.    Aloha, iSank
    • Day 124.   I spent ten minutes after work hitting 7-iron shots, off a mat, into a net, real balls, indoors.
