Is the grass artificial?  That's freaking nuts!  He can practice virtually any shot he might encounter anywhere, esp if he grows up the grass in a few spots, provided it's really grass.

I wonder if that's the same artificial make as David Pelz's.

I knew that Mark Wahlberg was a golfer (The Entourage episode with him and Tom Brady playing at Riviera is an all time classic), but didn't know how serious he was.

He recently did an interview where he confessed that for years, he harbored dreams of playing professionally. Apparently, he would practice golf obsessively when he wasn't on a shoot. He recently had to abandon the dream because he realized (and I quote) "I just suck."

Then again, if a natural athlete like Dan McLaughlin couldn't make it work, what chance does a schmuck like Mark Wahlberg have????

I think the depth of field might make it look steeper. For all we know that green is 60 yards away from where they're standing.

Pretty sure the hash tag "#BestArtificialTurf" gives it away…

Probably since the vegetation in the background looks kinda chaparralish.

He grew up in Dorchester. Back then, you would spend your off time trying not to get shot. It is better now, but "Dot" was a tough place back then. I doubt golf was in the picture.

You don't think he was spending his time at William J. Devine? ;-)

He would have had to cross into JP. There were certain 'streets' you did not cross back then. ;-) Maybe he did though.

He's a single digit handicap, and seems to have a decent swing. In another interview, he told people his handicap is 15 :-D

I had a friend from Roxbury, and she said the race riots were exactly on the border. Ugh, said I. :-P
