Too Much Forward Swaying, my hips are so far forward, the hands can't catch up which lead to hitting hosel rockets with the longer irons.

Gout is tough life. If you know about gout, you know about a low acid diet. If you are not actively mindful of eating alkaline diet, you should. Certainly helps if not cures.

Main issue is not laying off club on top of backswing - i.e., club across the line. Causes the same fault that I have had for years and worked mainly to improve over the last year or so - club comes in too shallow into impact causing a push if club not closed and a hook if closed. I should say, all my backswing video freezes show a marked improvement so I am finally back on a positive path.

There are two types of gout, normal gout and pseudo gout. Normal gout is caused through uric acid crystals, and pseudo gout through calcium crystals. Normal gout is generally genetic, but if you are prone to it then the correct diet helps. The biggest cause of uric acid build up is through purine, which is mainly comes from meat/fish protein, and the second biggest is beer, but not necessarily alcohol  per say. Acidic foods are\made up of a very different type of acid, and don't make any difference. In fact, all fruit and veg is good for preventing gout, which is good because I am a vegetarian. .

In reference to your back swing. My friend is a top pro, and he says that many backswing problems are\caused through to longer a swing.

Have to say not playing enough golf that leads to inconsistencies. Would be great to be able to play a round a week, right now I can't even manage a round every two months.

Myself?

As bad as I am I am improving but as previously stated am having serious driver issues. Hoping to get some work in with instructor on it otherwise it is getting a major time out and I will play 5w off the tees as we have made friends again.

Right now my biggest issue is not being able to play after yesterday's shoulder proceedure. 4 weeks off minimum.

However, when I am playing, my biggest problem, when it shows up, would be poor tee shots. I have been known to slice a few every now, and then. A few hooks too. Both happen when I swing a little faster than normal, while looking for those few extra yards.

If you don't mind my asking what procedure did you have?  I have an old sports injured left shoulder that's always bothered me but lately it is pretty bad. Thinking I don't have any or much cartilage left in it and may need to get it fixed. I'm stubborn and stupid though because I don't want to stop golfing.

My biggest problem now is occasionally hitting the ball on the toe of the club. This usually happens with my three wood and my long irons. I know I must be moving on these shots, but I cannot seem to stop. I found that addressing the ball on the heel seems to help; if I remember to do it.

Well, judging by your Game Golf page, you are about as short as I am. Keep working and know that you are not alone.

Thanks. Im finally enjoying the contact I have on balls, but now I just wonder if Im taking it too easy on them. I hate the thought of "ripping it" and having my sync ruined. Been about 4 weeks since my last range session so maybe I should just see if I can maintain the same movements while consciously swinging harder.

The only thin anyone has said, is one friend said I actually hit it too high. I thought it was a flipping problem, but I thought a flipping problem involved all kinds of mishits (thin, fat, low, skied). My balls just consistently fly high he said.

I'd love to get a definite answer on this, if my apexs are too high?

Not good enough to give anyone advice, but one thing the guys here posted that I think has helped me recently is:

A Centered Pivot Golf Swing

(not sure how to link to this directly)

Thanks!

Might try to take some new swing footage, but the last time I posted some no one replied to my thread. :~(

Biggest problem now?  Hmm...

Probably the inability to properly hit a 3 and 5 wood off the ground.  The courses I play here just aren't long enough to require using those clubs so I have basically zero practice with them for 3 summers in a row now.

Age. That's really the biggest problem.

My biggest golf problem right now is hooking my 3 and 5 woods, especially off the tee.   It's a mental thing.   I address the ball, and the club face slowly closes.   I grip and re-grip, attempting to open the club face, and yet, the club face closes worse every time I re-grip the club.   The solution right now is, just don't use those clubs, especially off the tee.   If I have to, just choke up on the driver.

Second biggest problem right now: it's like a blast furnace out there.   Ir's been 100 degrees, day after day.    Just brutal.

Tennis elbow in right arm, aggravated by pruning trees and too much right hand in golf swing.  (I've noticed I tense up right arm on tough shots, which tends to choke off a good swing and deliver extra shock to right forearm!)

After steroid pill pack and 3-week layoff, I hit some wedges yesterday. On those wedges, I noticed if I relax right arm at address, things work much more smoothly on swing.

Focus, connect and follow through!

I have no course or place to practice golf in the town I have moved to.  I can always go to the next country over, but that's also a pretty big hassle.  So, yeah, it's a bummer.

Overall inability to retain advances. I even find it difficult to develop a "base" swing that I can fall back on during a period of time when good contact seems lost.

Things I'm working on get very good (relatively speaking) for an extended period of time and then slowing begin to deteriorate. Been this way for the last couple of years.

I always seem to have one area that lets me down.

Story of my life. My most recent round I had a personal best of 4x 1 putts but just wasn't hitting my irons well that day. My drives were so-so as were my chips.

My biggest issue is with my back leg wanting to straighten up on my backswing which causes a mishit nearly every time.

My biggest problem is me. Specifically 6 inches between the ears.  Too much thinking every time a shot goes wrong.
