I don't give two craps about Bernie, Shillary or Trump, but for someone who preaches socialism (e.g wealth redistribution), buying a second or third house for any amount of money strikes of hypocrisy. When most can"t.

Otherwise so what, he bought a house. Politicians deserve better than us lowly citizens anyway...

It's not news that politicians are corrupt and follow a do as I say not as I do mentality.  This is a non-story unless Hillary or Clinton Foundation wrote Bernie a check.   Let's not react to every partisan story that gets released on both sides of the aisle.

I think the general gist is that yes, Bernie was paid off to shill for Shrill at the DNC, which is why the story was released.  I'm sure it happened but we'll have to wait for Assange to let us know in a year or two.

Even so, to buy a $600,000 home you need to have a household income of about $200,000 and worst case, $60,000 down payment.  Let's not pretend he bought a $1,000,000+ mansion.

Well, that's part of the speculation. And let's say, right up front, that this is speculation. But there's no doubt Bernie got hosed in the Dem Primaries, but he was supposed to be! After all, Shrillary couldn't be seen as running unopposed. That would smack of subterfuge, so Bernie played along in return for a nice check. Admittedly, all speculation.

What I would present as fact, however, is that Sanders owns over 1 Million dollars in housing while screeching about the rich! And Shrillary just released her 2015 tax docs, which revealed that she and "Hillary Billy" earned about 10 Mill last year. But, all the rich people are Republicans!

I still don't get what the problem is with a guy who has to be a millionaire (he earns 200K a year from what I gathered in this post) buying a house that he can afford to.  Why do people care how he spends the money that he earned himself.  Bunch of morons in my opinion

What's in the bag

  • Cobra Baffler 4H (stiff)
  • Taylor Made RAC OS 6-9,P,S (regular)
  • Golden Bear LD5.0 60* (regular)

  • Inesis Soft 500 golf ball

It's not a house, it's his third house.  And from what I read his wife had a relative die recently and they inherited money which allowed them to buy the house.

Personally, I don't care if the guy buys 100 houses but I do find it funny that the most prominent socialist in America is living like a king.

As far as I am concerned, the more houses a person can buy, the better.  It is a good investment in general, except when the real estate market is in a bubble.  Land and houses will almost always appreciate purely because of the growing world population.  So he chooses to invest his money in a third house.  Assuming it is legally earned money (and not say some payoff as seems to be implied) then why shouldn't a socialist also own more than one house.  It is just another investment for me

Don't you understand that these recommendations of sharing wealth, having mediocre insurance and conservation of the environment is stuff for the plebians. It most definitely not for the noble government aristocrat. He deserves at least 5 houses.

Exactly, this is old news.  Al Gore preaches about the environment and global warming while he jet sets across the country in his private jet and limo's.

A politicians job isn't to make personal sacrifices to better the world it's to pass laws and regulations that ensure the lowly voters do.  Somewhere along the way, we lost the concept that politicians are supposed to "serve" the people.

I haven't read much of Bernie's policies, but I'm pretty sure he and other socialists are more concerned with corporations paying little to no taxes on multi-billion dollar profit margins. I don't think he has ever suggested that working people can't own a nice house.  In fact, I'm pretty sure he is saying that all working people should have the opportunity to own a nice house, which can't happen as long as a tiny minority of people control the vast majority of the world's wealth.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

HUZZAH! At least some of you are getting the point! Sanders, Hillary, and others like them constantly inveigh against the rich, while conveniently ignoring the fact that they ARE rich! They promote behaviors and pass laws for the rest of us from which they are exempt!

And that's the core of the problem, hypocrisy! I don't care that Sanders or Hillary are rich. More power to them. It's when they pretend that they are on the side of "the poor" or "the working class" when it's only about votes that my stomach turns.

Hell, this country, every country, needs rich people! Movers and shakers, innovators, risk takers. Where would this country be without the Rockefellers, Fords, Morgans, Carnegies, and others? Like my Dad used to say, "No poor man ever gave me a job!"

    • It's not dumb. It's dumb to randomly allow a free drop that provides an advantage you don't deserve. And your committee had the option of determining it GUR. Did you talk to them?
    • A sand trap is not supposed to have 3 inches of water in it. To me that’s temporary, casual water. Just like if your ball lands in a deep rain puddle in the middle of the fairway. I would have gladly hit out of any spot in that bunker. I understand that it’s a different rule. I just think it’s a dumb rule. You are penalized because it rained.  Here’s what I think is the dumbest rule in golf, and all sports for that matter - professionals playing for millions of dollars in a tournament have to carry around a little pencil and scorecard to keep their score and sign it, when there are big scoreboards all over the course and on tv. Can you imagine the Knicks losing because they didn’t count their score correctly? Like I said, I love the game, but it’s time to move into the 21st century already.
    • Sorry to lose you, thx for letting us know
    • I have to bow out for the weekend. I was only in for Saturday as it was
    • Could course committee have an MLR option to declare this bunker GUR?
