Good idea, agree that this seems like a cool event! There are some guys in the field who don't have a status on the Pga Tour (like Chase Koepka). I guess they could get that with a win here..?

Might be late to the party, but how were these teams determined?

players got to chose who their partner is.  So far it seemed pretty interesting, and the speed of play today was very fast compared to normal.  Seems like on the first few days if they break 5 hours for a round its a miracle, but today they were playing at 4 or under.  I am sure tomorrow will be slower with 4-ball, but I like this idea.  Lets you get to see who are friends behind the scenes and I think it could make the ryder cup and pres cup teams even better by seeing how certain players play.

Looking at some of the teams, I wonder if they had this conversation:  

Golfer 1: Hey wanna play on my team?

Golfer 2:  Sure, then on the weekend we can go bowling and hit the Sizzler!

i will say, this has been one of the more interesting tournaments...  and with all the rain the course got, it was like throwing lawn darts at the Pin's
