You know what else is hilarious? Beating your "friend" to within an inch of his life after you get out of the hospital.

(BTW, I call BS on not even flinching when a golf cart is three feet away from you)

That's where I don't call bs. People are always driving after you hit and sometimes while you hit. Thinking they are going to run you over never crosses my mind.

I've never had a partner drive his cart to within 10 feet of me - let alone right at me - while I'm taking my shot. I can understand not being able to get out of the way, but I can't imagine anyone not noticing the sound getting dangerously close and reacting just before impact.

It would be the last time I played golf with them and I'd tell them so after I beat the crap out of him.   That is so not funny..

IB4 someone says something about "real" golfers would never take a cart....

But seriously, that's shocking video. Reprehensible, and grounds for terminating a "friendship".

Terminating a friendship? Assuming this is real, which it may not be, this is grounds for police action and a lawsuit.

I doubt it's literally a trend.  However, at the last So Cal TST outing, someone (not someone from the outing) did try to drive over the golf bag of one of us when we were returning the carts.

It's a "trend" in the sense that there have been several videos of similar shenanigans on Twitter recently...

There was a commercial with something similar almost two years ago:

I've seen a couple of these on reddit (can't find the links now).  The ones I saw were definitely staged; the guy getting hit was clearly waiting for it -- he looked back while in his stance and jumped up at the last second so he went up the wind screen instead of just getting plowed over.

True.

Completely, totally false.

Percy Shelley, one of the greatest Romantic poets of all time, was known as "Mad Shelley", because:

Quote

Shelley possessed a keen interest in science at Eton, which he would often apply to cause a surprising amount of mischief for a boy considered to be so sensible. Shelley would often use a frictional electric machine to charge the door handle of his room, much to the amusement of his friends. His friends were particularly amused when his gentlemanly tutor, Mr Bethell, in attempting to enter his room, was alarmed at the noise of the electric shocks, despite Shelley's dutiful protestations.  His mischievous side was again demonstrated by "his last bit of naughtiness at school", which was to blow up a tree on Eton's South Meadow with gunpowder.

This was in 1804.

I see your exploding tree and raise you the kid who was shot and killed while trying to get famous on YouTube  https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/29/us/shooting-youtube-stunt-minnesota.html

And the kid who thought it'd be fun* to be a human surfboard down a flight of steps (click at own risk).  I didn't embed the actual animated GIF because it doesn't end well for the kid.  It looks like he's having trouble breathing after having someone's foot on the back of his neck on the way down.

* I guess that was the reasoning; I'm sure copious amounts of alcohol were involved in the decision-making process.
