A driving iron on a 482 yard par 4 is just mind boggling to me.

I feel pathologically compelled to pull driver on anything over 360 yards.

He didn't even hit the fairway.  Even with that, I wonder what hazards he was avoiding.  Maybe some fear of his tee shot from #10?

Of course, a 482 yard par 4 is mind boggling to me... my home course has a par 5 shorter than that.

lol, I'm with you, he shot par, but still, 2 or 3 under on Friday and this would be so different... 

on the other hand, if he pulls this win off, under these circumstances, the drama will be unparalleled.

Tons of missed opportunities despite a mediocre ball striking round. A pedestrian 70 on Friday and this is another story

Thanks for the description.  Yeah, I'd love to watch another Sunday when Tiger has the lead at a course he's familiar with.

Henrik!!  it's one thing to not tee up a short iron for a par-3.  It's another thing to hit driver off the deck for your first shot

Yeah, sand trap on the right. Or maybe it's downwind and he knew that he would still only have a 7 iron in which he flushed buck 96. Just nuts. Different planet these guys must be from.
