Tiger's off today at 9:30 AM PST on North Course. Rest of tee times here.

Tiger will, of course, be part of a featured group on PGATour.com. Other group is McIlroy, Fowler & Scott.

I'll be watching at work 🙂

Tiger just has to stop with the Bogeys. Making birdies ...then just wastes them away with stupid errors. Come on Tiger!!

What does Golf TV cost? I have an account from last year, but can't find any info about what it costs this year. On mobile at least.

I got a bit of a refund from Apple because my previous subscription to PGA Tour Live was canceled before the full term was provided (because of this GolfTV thing).

Yup!  That's like my game.  One good hole and then blow the next one.

At his level, he needs to stop with bogeys.

I was there for Thursday's round.  I only watched Tiger play one hole, the 8th on the south.  He had a putt of about a 45 feet that had a tricky breaking downhill last 10 feet.  He left the flag in.  He had about a 2 foot second putt and had the flag out.

Most of the players i saw had the flag out.

Tiger hitting ball well - pretty flawless tee to green. Missing some very makeable putts. He's staying calm, but I'm getting frustrated.😀

We don't have Golftv in the US, only PGATour.com, which is now part of NBC Sports Gold. It's about $40-$50/year.

Ah, I see. I sent them a request and they replied with the Norwegian prices. 59 NOK a month or 549 NOK a year. That translates to about $6 and $55. I'll keep the membership, I think it's pretty good value for what I get.

Rahm lit it up yesterday on the North Course but the South Course is playing really tough. Watching Tiger, he might want to leave the flag in on those long putts. He is lipping out and missing too many birdie chances.

I play Torrey pretty often, this is an often repeated saying on the course.  So the ocean has some sort of gravitational pull, I'll ask when someone says that.

Heh. There's actually less gravitational pull from the ocean than there is from the hill than everything above sea level. More matter/mass. 🙂

He made birdie. Off the tee box on the other hole.

I had a physics question that was similar to that. We were asked to calculate the gravitational pull of a Cadillac sitting outside the window of where someone was born and compare that to the gravitational pull of some planet. I think it was the professor's dig at astrology

Should’ve had the flag in for that putt.

    • Patrick Cantlay's strokes gained from 2024: I wonder if he takes more time on approach shots given that was the worst part of his game last season. And then here are his 2023 stats: Much better ball striking season. I wonder if there are any differences in his times between these two seasons. I tend to think he's just slow in general, but it'd be interesting to see his time differences.
    • Not sure, I think players have their own pace. Speith was always slow, regardless if he was in contention or not. Well, more so when he was in contention. It might be a push there on that question.
    • Without knowing the study at all, this could be more of a reflection of who is tournament ready and who isn't. If you have a quick trigger, it could mean your swing is working really well. Fidgeting, lots of rehearsals, maybe means your swing's not functioning as well as you'd like it to and you need more time to feel it all out before you hit your shot.
    • A study done by the European Tour shows spending less time over the ball produces better shots.  This makes sense. I can see where if you are over the ball a long time you lose the ability to make a more athletic swing. There is also the possibility of just overthinking the shot while over the wall as well and not being in the right headspace.
    • I recently picked up a vintage Ping Hoofer Lite carry bag.  I am not sure how old it is but estimate it is probably from around 2012 or so? I cannot figure out how to adjust the straps! I am going to try to attach a picture of the bag and will also describe it below. I cannot figure out how to adjust the straps in a way that makes the bag comfortable to carry.  The bag also seems to want to be more upright/ vertical than how you would normally carry a bag like this. I have tried to search this site and others on the web but almost all info is on the newer ping Hoofer bags which have quite a different design. The bag is pretty minimal in terms of pockets and has no handle on the top.  It has 2 backpack straps that are not connected to each other.  They are connected to the top of the bag and in the middle of the bag above the primary ball/ gear pocket. Any feedback appreciated, thanks for your help!
