Tiger's par putt on #17 tried to escape, but it didn't.  With that putt going in, Tiger has more sand saves today (2) than I have in 2019 (1).

Tiger is getting shorter with his drives.  Justin Rose, only 5 years younger, hit a 3 wood on #18 about 15 yards past Tiger's driver... that the announcers called "smoked".

Tiger hit 3-wood...

Tiger's controlled driver swing is getting him 290 carry and 173 ball speed.

Maybe they did.  The announcers say lots of things that aren't true.  

I can confirm visually (I saw the shot) that he hit not-a-driver.

The defending champion's first round last year was a 75.  Justin Rose is now the clubhouse leader with a 65 after the first round.

He played practice rounds. The approach I can see a bit of question but ‘there’s a huge cliff at the end of the fairway at 250yds’ shouldn’t require a caddie’s call no?

It was a bit unlucky in that all other balls are landing softly and Jordan’s looked like it landed on concrete.  The course is soft but then all of a sudden for two shots it plays like Shinnecock.

Without sun and wind, these guys will likely continue to beat this course up. And it doesn’t sound like you’re going to get any sun today. Going to be colder and softer. I expect to see see more records being broken.

Now it's too many references to Brooks - it's now in there while watching groups that don't concern him and interviews with completely unrelated players.  They need a balance.  It's now officially annoying.  Spineless weirdos.

Caddie did not give him bad yardage.  They agreed a few times on the yardage before he hit.
