My once-a-year playing brother birdied No. 7 of Yankee Trace's Heritage course.

I didn't get squat.

I'm on the board! First round this year, played my "home" course, made birdie on 14.

In the last couple of rounds, I've managed to add a couple of the toughest holes, both with chip-ins.  I got our 12th a couple weeks ago with about a 60-foot chip and run.  Today I got the par-3 4th hole with a high pitch from maybe 25 feet.  Both are really tough pars, and great birdies.  So far I have 11 of the 18.

Birdied #8 at Warrenbrook today, so I added it to the by-hole sheet. I dislike that hole so I’m happy to birdie it. Had a good look at eagle, too. It was not to be.

I don’t care how you do it, a birdie at the 12th is impressive.

Had a pretty good day.

  • Hit a wedge to five feet and made the putt on 5 for a birdie. I already had that one though.
  • Hit a 6I to 10-12 feet after a heeled (but straight) drive on 10, made the putt on the high side (it broke a foot). This one counted as new.
  • Hit a 6I to a foot on 14. Tapped in. That was a new one.
  • Hit a driver, 3W into the wind on 15, left a lob wedge short on the front of the green (I hate that green for wedge approach shots), and buried the 35-40 footer. That was a new one too.
  • Almost made a wiggly 10-footer on 8 after hitting a driver 350 (one cart path bounce, but I creamed it too).
  • Almost jarred an eagle shot from 136 on 17, but the ball pulled back to 14 feet and I left it just a bit low. Dammit.
  • Had only 150 in to 18 from a sidehill (ball above) stance which I normally love. Left it out right a bit.

So, I went from 7 to 10 birdies (or better) and -11 under par total.

One more today.  Hit a nifty little 160 yard downhill, running “pitch” to 4 feet.  Made the putt despite recently punched greens.

What qualifies as downhill in Florida?  10 feet?  😁  345 feet is the tallest mountain...

I'm betting that rangefinders with slope measurement don't sell well in Florida.  Not picking on FL... used to live in Miami.

Haven't seen my home course since an unusually warm day in January. Hitting the ball like turds anyway but needless to say, no progress at all.

After not birding any par 5's yesterday, checked off three today, 5 birdies total.

Good start to the month, ten birdies in two rounds on nine different holes.

I'm taking advantage of the opening of golf courses here in New Mexico. I played Sunday, Tuesday and today. I hit balls and practiced the other two days the course has been open. I finally birdied #6 today. Its one of the easiest holes on the course, but I kept screwing it up. Today I drove the green and two-putted for birdie. I also drove the green on Sunday, but 3 putted from 20 feet for par. 😬 I also eagled #15 on Sunday so I have now eagled all 4 par 5's.

Birdied the 12th today, another par 3. Started from 10 due to a frost delay this morning (seriously, in May?) so it was the third hole of the day. Hit my 7i just left of center and it faded due to a heavy left to right wind, ending up in the back right quadrant of the green. Made a 2% right breaking 20 footer right in the center of the PVC hole insert.

After a great start to the month last week, this weekend sucked. One birdie yesterday (repeat) and three today, checked off the 4th hole.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
