The wife even went on about how she had to go to a special pharmacy because most places won’t give it to you.

So she is surprised that a pharmacy will not give out drugs that are not prescribed by a licensed physician….. what a genius she is 😜

It’s not as well understood

Why, there's been just as long to study it as the vaccines.

Not true.

It wasn’t studied in clinical trials. People who had COVID haven’t all even been aware of it, and have had it in varying capacities. People vaccinated got known dosages. They may only handle one strain well.

The list of reasons goes on.

Those with “natural immunity” should still get vaccinated.

That would be the Shady Pharmacy on the dark web.

She said the ivermectin gave her really bad diarrhea (good!)

I my be mistaken but I think that is how de-workers work.  When I had dogs the de-wormer killed the worms and then they were “Evacuated” through the digestive tract.

So maybe she didn't have Covid after all. She had worms.

maybe, but to your point they haven't studied it.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out with the >100 employer mandates and passports for nyc/la etc. when there starts to be a potential disparate impact.

Meaningless.

Pretty easy to add that up to get 100% and understand what that is.  Again, meaningless.

What percent of the White race has been vaccinated?, What percent of the African Americans have been vaccinated?  etc.

Well, they can’t do that very easily if at all. Everybody generates a different response especially when the amount of viral load is completely unknown. People may test positive but have only a minimal detectable load. Others may have a large viral load and generate a strong response. As Erik said the vaccine provides a known amount. They continue to study average responses but realize people’s immune systems aren’t identical. They still don’t know what titer results are considered efficient. But those studies are still underway.

Lab Corp has a "Semi-Quantitative" test that I'm considering taking.  I'm a leukemia survivor, had a bone marrow transplant, I have GVHD, and I'm on immune suppression medication (tacrolimus, sirolimus, prednisone).  Some of my Dr.'s patients in the same situation as me got no response from the vaccine

I took the qualitative test and I have antibodies, but I have no idea how protected I am.  I recently got the Moderna booster.

The Lab Corp Semi-Quantitative test gives no indication of what is a good response.  It's just a number.  I don't see the point of taking the test if there is no way to interpret the number.  Still I want to take it, I can at least compare it to the number my neighbor got (his employer required the test).

Why did the employer require a test that’s not even recommended by the CDC? Not really ball busting but this is part of a problem we’re facing way too often as physicians. Employers, schools, all making up their own protocols without knowing what they’re talking about. I get your ‘wanting to know’ but know what? Like you said, it’s just a number that means nothing at this time. It’s also possible that insurance wouldn’t cover it as it’s not medically necessary.

AZD7442, a combination of two long-acting antibodies (LAAB), reduced the risk of developing symptomatic COVID-19 by 77% (95% confidence interval (CI): 46, 90), compared to placebo.

I just asked him, he works for a biotech company called Hologic.  He said they just wanted him to do it, maybe for to start a database?  He did send me his number fwiw,

FEATURED-Sept-7-COVID-19-RaceEthnicity-U

KFF is collecting and analyzing data on COVID-19 vaccinations by race/ethnicity to gain increased insight who is receiving the vaccine and whether some groups are facing disparities in vaccination.

"As of this week, 75% of the adult population in the United States have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. While this progress represents a marked achievement in vaccinations that has led to steep declines in COVID-19 cases and deaths, vaccination coverage—and the protections provided by it—remains uneven across the country. With the continued spread of the more transmissible Delta variant, cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are rising, largely among unvaccinated people. While as of late July 2021, White adults accounted for the largest share (57%) of unvaccinated adults, Black and Hispanic people remain less likely than their White counterparts to have received a vaccine, leaving them at increased risk, particularly as the variant spreads."
