Day 9, backswing felt and looked a little weird, but I liked the position I got into when I froze it.

Day 9 complete, I like this drill, I usually do this drill/motion based on a video that was posted a while back, but not with an alignment stick or with such force.  The feeling helps me to not throw the club over my right shoulder, as well as feeling the left hip rise and push back, and I will add the alignment stick drill to my next range session.

But as mentioned before, I have to find the right transition for all of this to work properly.

Day 9, I think I did this ok.

As for Day 8, I’ll try to get it in soon. I did 15 hours of work yesterday being out on storm duty after FirstEnergy territory got hit with three tornadoes.

Day 9:

This drill and I are not friends. I recorded this like four times and no matter what I did, my hips fire fast and the trail elbow gets way behind. This motion feels predominantly like a right hand throw to me and I didn't feel any pull in the left arm at all. Even managed somehow to hit myself in the foot with the alignment stick.

I know from experience that when I feel like my arms are moving quickly like that, I pull the club down steep from the top and my right elbow goes into IR real quickly and gets behind my right hip, so I'm doing something wrong here.

In doing this drill I learned two things - (1) do NOT use an alignment that is of the breakaway style (don't ask me how I know) and (2) do NOT use an alignment rod that has been in the sun a lot - it gives birth to minute shards of fiberglass that come off in your hand (again don't ask me how I know).  Seriously, this drill was a workout to say the least. Focused on pacing the swings to get better muscle memory of what is happening.  (Forgive the glare, worked on this in the shop and the window in the background faces due South)....

Day 9 - so the alignment stick went fine...but the 6i:

I ended up using the 7i. My clubs are 15 years old, so maybe an excuse to get new ones?

Well, we know you have enough club head speed 😉

wow, I would think it would break closer to the club head, you must have had a strong grip there for it to snap right past your hand.

Perhaps I’ve chunked that club so many times, this was simply the straw that broke its back 🤔

Finished Day-9. I really liked this drill. I discovered I have been too lazy at the top of my backswing, and it was costing me yards. Today I only hit into a net, and was making much better contact and being much more aggressive and confident. I am playing tomorrow, so I’ll see if it translates to the course. I plan on doing this drill as part of my warm-up.
